Summary

This role focuses on AWS security engineering, responsible for configuring cloud-native security tools, building infrastructure as code, and collaborating with delivery teams to uplift security posture and incident response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

·       Own and drive AWS security tooling configurations (Sec Hub, GuardDuty, etc.).

·       Design and tune alerts for use by the DIS SecOps team.

·       Build and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) for security controls.

·       Raise work items through ADO and ServiceNow for automation and control hardening.

·       Collaborate with delivery and operations teams to uplift security practices.

·       Report on compliance evidence for DI accreditation, including ATO IT Security baselines and policy compliance in line with PSPF, ISM and Essential 8

·       Work independently while contributing visibly to security engineering forums.

·       LevelLevel 4 – Enable

·       Justification: This role enables secure system design and implementation, contributes to the design of security controls, and works independently while collaborating with others. Level 4 reflects autonomy with accountability and technical contribution

Qualifikationen

Expected Deliverables/KPIs of the security engineer role are:

  • Code
    • Development of technical solutions primarily defined through infrastructure as code or configuration as code
    • Ability to automate information gathering activities across a range of Cloud Platforms, ITSM tools and other APIs
  • Documentation
    • Producing solution specific documentation
      • E.g. A feature definition document that describes a monitoring use case and related AWS alert configuration. Expected to describes who, what, when, why, how
    • Contributor to the technical sections of:
      • Audit Logging Plans
      • Continuous Monitoring Plans
      • System Security Plans
      • Response playbooks
      • Standard Operating Procedures
      • Evidence gathering template (for audits)
  • Supporting deployments
    • Submission and management of change requests in ITSM tools (e.g. change description, backout plan, test results)
    • Ability to submit and justify work requests to others (e.g. business value, urgency, risk mitigation of proposed work)
