Work You’ll Do:
We are looking for a Network Tools – Automation Engineer with a strong core networking background to design, implement, integrate, and stabilize network and security platforms across client environments. This role requires a strong foundation in enterprise and data center networking, proficiency operating network tools, and the ability to design tool-to-tool integrations using APIs, webhooks, and custom scripts. The engineer will drive operational maturity by delivering repeatable integrations, improving data quality across systems, and enabling observability and automation outcomes aligned to production support needs.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement integrations between network/security tools and enterprise platforms using REST APIs, webhooks, and custom scripts, ensuring reliable data flow and operational stability
Implement, operate, and stabilize network observability and security tooling (monitoring/visibility/SIEM-aligned integrations), including onboarding, tuning, and integration validation in production environments
Develop and maintain Cisco ACI data center fabric via automation, APIC controller and Cisco Nexus Dashboard
Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and integration specs to enable repeatable deployments, supportability, and knowledge transfer
Automate operational tasks with Python and scripting (JSON/PowerShell/API workflows), supporting data extraction, transformation, reporting, and controlled change execution across integrated platforms
Conduct technical assessments of client current-state infrastructure
Plan, implement, test and deploy automation across network and security solutions stacks:
SD-WAN, SD-Access, SD-DC
Firewalls, IDS/IPS
Tool Observability
Automation Pipelines
Programmatic Networks
Improve network security posture through micro and macro segmentation, policy optimization, and monitoring
Improve resiliency through optimized failover and disaster recovery
Validate AI-assisted analysis with logic, experience, and domain knowledge
Core Technical Experience:
Enterprise Networking: LAN/WAN/DC/WLAN concepts; routing/switching fundamentals
Software‑Defined Networking: SD‑WAN platforms, SD-Access,SD-DC, ISE, Catalyst Center (DNAC), Cisco ACI
Programmatic Networking: Python, JSON, PowerShell; API calls and automation workflows
Tool Integration & Automation: REST APIs, webhooks, authentication patterns, data mapping, error handling
Infrastructure as Code: Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD
Network Management tools: SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Datadog, Thousand Eyes
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in network engineering, network tooling, automation, or security operations with a strong enterprise network foundation

2+ years of scripting capability with Python plus supporting languages/tools (JSON, PowerShell); able to create maintainable automation and integration utilities

Demonstrated ability to build and support integrations (API/webhook/event-driven or scheduled sync patterns) across platforms and environments
-
Proven capability to operate with Data normalization, mapping across tools, state‑based configuration, telemetry

Bachelor’s degree or completion of a college program in a related discipline

Certifications:

Cisco Certified DevNet Professional (DEVCOR, ENAUTO, DEVOPS)

Juniper Certified DevOps Professional (JNCIA‑DevOps / JNCIS‑DevOps)

English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with English-speaking stakeholders across Canada. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with IaC for repeatable, auditable network changes using CI/CD pipelines Git‑based workflows

Strong hands-on experience and troubleshooting skills with Cisco ACI architecture and operations

Deep knowledge of ACI VRFs, EPGs, ESGs, Contracts, Tenants

Experience operating and integrating common network/security tooling stacks (e.g., network monitoring, observability, identity, IPAM/CMDB-adjacent platforms)

Strong documentation discipline (SOPs/runbooks/integration documentation) and ability to standardize operational procedures

Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; able to work independently while aligning to solution direction and governance

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Network Certifications (CCNA/CCNP or equivalent)

Security Certifications (Cisco, Palo Alto, Zscaler, Juniper, Fortinet, Aruba, CSA)
