Work with a client team to deliver business transformation. This will include designing, building and testing strategic solutions ready for implementation.

INTRODUCTION

Our clients rely on us to deliver scalable, business critical, end-to-end solutions. On this graduate programme, you’ll be the catalyst for making that happen whether this is on a large scale or smaller scale project. Accenture sets out the vision for its clients, it’s up to you to make it a reality. Often working on long-term, highly complex projects, this is your chance to develop a real in-depth knowledge of businesses, industries and technologies – giving you wide-ranging, highly marketable and transferable skills.

Meet Kevin, Accenture Senior Manager. Find out what he does day-to-day and what it takes to succeed on our Client Delivery Graduate Programme.

As an Associate, you’ll work with a client team to deliver business transformation. Accenture sets out the vision for its clients, it’s up to you to make it a reality. This will include designing, building and testing strategic solutions ready for implementation. A key member of the team, you’ll go the extra mile to understand client requirements, formulate a plan of action, and work with a range of onshore and offshore delivery teams to get it done. In close contact with the client at every stage, this role will make the most of your ability to communicate complex technologies, while managing third party suppliers, timelines and expectations.

You’ll need a university degree in any discipline, a passion for technology and excellent communication, project management and problem-solving skills. Overall, we’re looking for a willingness to develop, a creative mind and an interest in process improvement. Ours is an industry that’s driven by client demand. Which means that we have to place people in the industries and geographies where our clients need them most. As well as being flexible, an open mind coupled with patience is a real bonus.

Applications are now closed.

You’ll need to be prepared to travel as client projects could take you anywhere in the country – or even the world – though you will be aligned to a base at one of our main office locations in either London or Newcastle.

MY ACCENTURE CAREER

“My current client project is brilliant. I’m constantly learning, working with people across the business to find out about field level mapping, and also creating design documents and pushing them through the approval process. During the past few weeks we’ve moved into the testing phase, which is completely new to me. The product we’re installing was developed in Spain, so everyone’s in the same boat, learning as we go and relying on each other for support.

I think the main reason to join Accenture is that you get the opportunity to try lots of different things within one company. When you’re a placement student, you’re not really sure what you want to do. So to join a company like Accenture, where we work with so many clients in so many different industries, means you get the chance to move around and really understand what you want to do with your career.

The working environment is really friendly and exciting. Every day is a different experience. I might spend most of my time testing, but it’s still a rollercoaster. You never know what will happen next. It also makes a big difference when you’re working with people who share your aspirations and are equally eager to do things.

If there’s something you want to do, never be afraid to ask. Everyone wants you to experience new things. So if you want to try a certain kind of training or help out on a particular project, they’ll more than likely say yes.”

"When I was at university, I attended one of Accenture’s Inspiring Women Events where I met some really interesting people and this confirmed my decision to apply to Accenture. Although I don’t have a technology or STEM background, I am interested in new developments in technology and how this can make a positive impact on the world which is why the Client Delivery Graduate Programme is the perfect fit for me.

Since joining Accenture, I have been on three projects – two shorter projects (lasting three weeks and one week respectively) and my current project. My advice would be to try and learn as much as possible from each of your projects – even if it’s a very short project, or within an industry you wouldn’t normally consider working in. I am currently in a project management role working for a client in the financial services industry. I help to plan and implement the service migration of over 300 servers. My team is quite small and is made up of around 60 people onshore and an offshore team based in the US. We carry out analysis to see where we could consolidate servers to save money without compromising the effectiveness of the system for the client. Then, we discuss any potential problems that may arise and work together to develop solutions. It can be challenging when we’re working to tight deadlines but, it’s really rewarding when the service migration runs smoothly and the client is happy with the work.

Outside of my role, I’ve joined the Accenture African Caribbean Network (AACN) and I am part of the communications team who are responsible for keeping our members informed of the latest events. The AACN organises social activities such a dinners, film screenings to celebrate Black History Month and networking events. I also organise dinners for my project, which is great as it means you get to know your colleagues outside of a work environment."

1

APPLICATION PROFILE AND PSYCHOMETRIC QUESTIONNAIRE

The first part of the process is to fill out an application profile which includes a psychometric questionnaire. Along with attaching your most up to date CV, we will ask you to provide some details of your background, experience, skills and education. Although this stage can be completed in under 10 minutes, you can exit and revisit the page as many times as you like before submitting. If your profile meets our role requirements and is identified as a good fit for the company and our culture, we will progress you through to the next stage.

IMMERSIVE ASSESSMENTS

IMMERSIVE ASSESSMENTS

You will then be asked to complete a series of short online assessments. This stage gives you the opportunity to prove your cognitive and functional ability, tech acuity and business acumen. From start to finish the assessments should take no longer than 1 hour to complete. Since they are untimed, you are welcome to start and stop the assessments as you wish and complete them at your leisure. If you excel across all areas, we will then progress you to the third and final stage.

3

ASSESSMENT CENTRE

ASSESSMENT CENTRE

At this stage you are required to attend a 3-hour Assessment Centre in our London office. The Assessment Centres will take you through a series of exercises that will give you insight into life at Accenture while allowing you to showcase your potential for the role. Some exercises such as the Virtual Reality segment and 1:1 interview will require you to participate on your own and others such as the business challenge will require you to work together with other candidates. You will be informed of the outcome within 10-15 business days.
