I think identity is such a complex thing. Even without the geographical complexity my identity brings. Growing up in Australia but being born in Malaysia and of Chinese descent, my identity is made up of so many elements. I’m the bubbly and outgoing and direct Aussie. I live for food, which I guess comes from my Malaysian and Chinese roots.

I’m well educated and have that real learning drive. My identity is a tapestry of culture subtilities, but that’s not everything I am. I live my life holistically. Drawing. Yoga. Moving to France, so I could learn the language. All of these things are part of who I am too.

Over time, I’ve learnt to bring them all together and to celebrate them. To embrace everything that I am and want to be, so I can feel strong within myself. So, I can have the breathing space to be me, to really flourish and relish in my identity.
