To manage and deliver the emergency management strategy with the aim of proactively and reactively reducing local infrastructure risks to Accenture; to ensure that Accenture is ready and able to respond to an incident affecting its people, buildings, assets and reputation; and aligned to best practice for Crisis Management and Business Continuity.
The UKI Corporate Resilience Specialist is responsible for delivering the UKI wide Business Resilience providing support and guidance to employees and functional representatives in delivering the policy and programme requirements. The role will manage an annual budget in conjunction with the UKI Security and Compliance Associate Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Build and maintain a strong knowledge of Accenture’s changing business and the effects on teams locally and globally, recognising the changes in the risk profile. Ensure this knowledge is applied in the design and implementation of the emergency planning process and considered in relevant service offerings.
Use persuasive and effective negotiation skills to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure service delivery reflects business need.
Ensure risk and compliance services for the UKI comply with all Global Policy requirements including; Crisis Management (Policy 0013), Business Continuity (Policy 1476) and Information Security (Policy 1457).
Act as point of contact for resilience initiatives through representation on forums and calls.
Establish a strategy of continuous improvement across Risk and Compliance services to enhance and anticipate future requirements.
Provide specialist support and input to ensure Accenture achieves, maintains and continuously improves its credentials in relation to the international standards and accreditations process. Manage and coordinate compliance processes and internal/external audits as necessary (e.g. ISO 22301, 27001 9001).
Provide input and support as required in the completion of Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Information (RFI) or Award submission documentation.
Line management of a team responsible for delivering the UKI Resilience and Compliance programme, including performance management, personal development and effective prioritisation and delegation of responsibilities and individual tasks in pursuit of overall team objectives.
Develop and deliver Emergency Management, Business Continuity training/awareness sessions to key groups, to ensure a clear understanding of responsibilities.
Manage and maintain effective tools for the identification, management and timely closure of Life Safety and Security corrective actions.
Provide specialist input on relevant business initiatives and event planning relating to safety and security
Develop and deliver desktop simulation exercises for the Emergency Management Team and each functional unit to exercise and identify gaps in the preparedness and response of the team and validate plans. Follow up actions and close all issues.
Manage the implementation, testing and on-going review of risk management plans for all locations in scope, ensuring they are appropriate and effective.
Provide specialist input on relevant business initiatives relating to business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency planning for major events.
Establish and implement a strategic communication plan which not only supports planned deliverables (e.g. training, exercises and internal/external audits), but also targets broader improvements in employee awareness and behaviour.
Work collaboratively with AWS and TS:L teams to help ensure connectedness in emergency response and business continuity awareness.
Provide advice, support and guidance on crisis management and policy alignment to senior managers, functional managers, location managers and other interested internal stakeholders. This may include formal responses to commercial proposals.
Liaise and consult with security, government, and advisory departments to ensure potential threats and risks that may affect Accenture are identified and controlled with appropriate preventative measures (e.g. bomb threat guidance, terrorist threats).
Manage Website and SharePoint information portals to ensure they are current and accurate.
Daily resolution of issues and incidents in line with company policy and consequently improving procedures and reducing exposure to risk as a result.
Assist in the assessment of emergency incidents or specific security risks associated with potential disruptions/consequences to business activities.
Activate the Virtual Emergency Control Centre (VECC) and support the Emergency Management Team Leads during critical incidents and support EMT members in considering appropriate actions.
Assist in drafting and communicating advisory messages to employees and consider alternative contingencies to continue business (e.g. Terrorist threats, civil disturbances, travel disruption)
Supplier and Relationship Management
Optimise supplier expertise and resources to meet Accenture business needs and provide quality, innovation and efficiency in service delivery
Ensure the service contract and any procurement activity are managed in compliance with agreed procedure
Manage the supplier performance for service lines owned to ensure Accenture receive best value and ensure that service delivery meets contracted SLA’s with reported evidence
Create a culture of continuous improvement in the supplier organisations through robust quality management systems
Ensure Operational and Strategic Management Reviews are delivered on time by suppliers and are productive and focused on relevant objectives
Participate in forums/groups in a proactive manner both within Accenture and external to the company to maintain and improve industry knowledge
Establish good working relationship with other Service Owners to seek guidance, share information and define required actions as appropriate
Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders, customers and clients to develop, implement, align and improve service management, control and delivery
Establish a strong relationship with the Supplier Management Team to facilitate effective service delivery and meet Accenture’s objectives
In conjunction with the UKI Security and Compliance Associate Manager:
Establish detailed budget requirements and reforecast regularly to reflect changing need.
Monitor spend against budget, ensuring rate of spend and actual out turn are within budget forecast.
Interrogate monthly finance statements and provide commentary on any material variance against forecast.
Ensure compliance with Accenture’s procurement and payment policies and invoices are paid on time.
Provide considered propositions for cost savings to Management.
Prepare reports and presentations as required to communicate risk management to relevant stakeholders.
Attend and be prepared for meetings with the UKI Security and Compliance Associate Manager highlighting key initiatives, the latest status updates, successes, concerns and issues associated with service delivery.
Source and provide information for Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation as required (often requiring urgent response).
Compare and benchmark Supplier performance across the portfolio and with wider industry to report on and implement opportunities for improvement.
Prepare, analyse and distribute monthly Clearance reports to Authorising Persons to ensure compliance on Access Levels, taking action on changes instructed by Customer.
Identify and react to real and potential threats to Accenture people, company brand and other assets.
Build effective relationships and maintain regular contact with key internal and external stakeholders.
