About The Role:
The Social Media Manager implements social media strategy in support of marketing campaigns to build brand awareness and generate product consideration, while growing and engaging audiences in multiple channels. The Social Media Manager is a highly motivated individual with a passion for content strategy, creative writing and community participation leadership.
This role will be focused on leading the social activity for Jaguar and Land Rover in the UK. The ideal candidate will hit the ground running having had paid social experience across automotive/lifestyle brands. Jaguar has a big ambition to leverage culture and have a key role in our audience’s conversations. As well as the core product content, they also have partnerships across Everyman Cinema, Sky Documentaries, Attitude magazine and Wimbledon. Land Rover has a focus on leveraging and activating a UK-specific brand campaign, alongside core product content and globally-led product campaigns.
Social Asset Creation- From receiving a brief from client to creating content or using Global or UK originated content in an innovative way, the SMM will produce a brief to create/crop/edit the assets for the format required.
Paid Social- Experienced in working with media agency to deliver paid social campaigns. High familiarity with formats across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube & LinkedIn. In addition, retargeting content from the Jaguar and Land Rover websites.
Reporting- Media results will show us how posts are performing. To gain insights on how we can improve creatively, the SMM will look at the results and give an unbiased view on why a certain post has performed extremely well, or poorly. The output should suggest further creative testing, or clear formats that work/don’t work.
Asset Removal- JLR Global request for assets to be removed when usage expires, and to track this on a spreadsheet.
Relationship with Global/CRM/Retail/Aftersales/SP44- Aligning with different areas of the UK team, to ensure that we are supporting them on social and not giving customers mixed messages. Having regular updates with the Global team to align on what assets are coming and ensure we plan them in or even influence their briefs.
Social Posting- Creation of posts and publishing on social channels using Social Studio. Working alongside the media agency if post has budget support from promotion.
General Social Insights- Provide feedback on trends/comments from platforms to the wider team and suggest content or tests that we can do to miximise . In addition, identifying cultural and calendar moments of which the brand can leverage.
Proactive Ideation- Off the back of identifying cultural and calendar moments, brainstorming ideas around how we can activate against these in a way that is interesting, exciting and relevant. Also identifying spur of the moment social opportunities that we can activate against e.g. viral trends.
Best Practice - Be the lead in ensuring Social Media best practice is understood within the wider S44 teams, providing insights into new platform features and development.

- High level of familiarity with established and emerging social platforms
- Proficient in social planning tools e.g. Social Studio
- Understanding of social analytics; familiarity with measurement tools preferred

- Photoshop skills strongly preferred
- Familiar with Adobe Premiere Pro video editing preferred
- Luxury / automotive experience preferred but keen to have candidates who have worked on brands that tap into culture
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be able to write simply and persuasively.
- Able to articulate and present ideas with conviction - excellent presentation skills (both in-person and via phone)
- A clear communicator, in person and writing
- Highly organised and flexible
- IT literate
