As a team:
The Sales Teams lead the sale of large and complex opportunities at Accenture in the UK and Ireland across a variety of different industries. It is a dynamic team made up of Sales Captures, Bid Managers and Bid Writers who lead and support opportunities that often combine the full breadth of Accenture. We work with most of the major clients across many market sectors, as well as working with new players in the industry. This is an exciting and vibrant team who bring to bear the best of sales at Accenture within a team environment that positively encourages growth and promotion.
The Bid Writer will focus on producing professionally written proposals and pitch content that superbly articulates our value proposition and win themes. The role requires a forensic attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and demanding deadlines. The Bid Writer will work closely with the Bid Manager and the subject matter experts SMEs to ensure the timely completion of quality tender responses. The Bid Writer will be typically engaged to help develop the value proposition and articulate the win themes and solution narrative. He or she will be heavily involved throughout the Proposal Phase and typically exit after bid submission.

In this role you will:
This role sits under the direction of the Bid Management Lead for H&PS
Responsible for writing winning responses on key sales opportunities,
Managing the end-to-end storyboarding of the bid response document
Co-ordinating and aligning bid team activities to ensure winning responses
Key areas of responsibilities:
Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from sales, technology subject matter experts, finance, commercial, legal and delivery.
Ensure win themes are articulated in such a way to meet / exceed the client’s requirements.
Deliver completed written proposal responses to the Bid Manager against agreed RFP deadlines, escalating issues as required.
Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members.
Undertake market research for the kick-off and solution meetings.
Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts.
Assist the Bid Manager in developing a proposal structure.
Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant.
Ability to coach sales and solution / SME teams in writing best practice.
Excellent time management / prioritisation skills.
Forensic attention to detail and meticulous proof-reading skills.
What skills & experience are we looking for?
Experience as a business or creative writer, preferably with experience in writing public sector bid responses
A high level of competence with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Strong storytelling experience
Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills
Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to work independently and in virtual environment
Requires adherence to strategic direction set by senior management, when establishing near-term goals.
Interaction is with senior management at a client and/or within Accenture, involving matters that may require acceptance of an alternate approach
Organised and proficient at planning to achieve challenging timelines
Proficient at working collaboratively with both the internal sales team and client stakeholders
Degree of accountability for assigned tasks, our clients and Accenture
Government experience would be helpful, but not essential
Set yourself apart:
Proven skills in writing and editing proposal content within a complex business environment
Experienced in leading storyboarding sessions, participating in key review meetings / final document review, content sign-off, and document production.
Excellent written English language skills are essential for this role.
Experience of coordinating / managing and updating knowledge content is also desirable.
Proven history working in the Government sector
