As a Technology Consulting Manager you’ll often be required to

  • Work with C-suite at our clients to orchestrate strategies where to best leverage cutting edge new IT for greatest strategic impact/ competitive advantage.
  • Support CTO/CIOs with the definition of value case for new IT/Technology.
  • Focus on high paced value creation for our clients by positioning IT to deliver business value and enable future growth through emerging digital, cloud, and next generation technologies
  • Support CTO/CIOs define the value case for our clients with focus on high paced value creation
  • Help our clients define target IT through the creation of blueprints, roadmaps and governance structures.
  • Develop and manage CIO/CTO and other C-suite client relationships; advising and selling work through the relationships forged.
  • Undertake sales origination, including working with other Accenture teams in identifying opportunities to grow a successful practice.
  • Provide Program and Project Services leveraging leading methodologies and tools (e.g. Agile. DevOps, Design Thinking
  • Advising our clients how to organise for Digital IT and how to embed next generation skills
  • Be at the forefront of the Digital Revolution; shaping and contributing to Accenture strategy and thought leadership for Resources clients around large-scale IT transformation and next generation technologies

Required Capabilities

  • Understanding of the Retail Industry
  • An ability to challenge a client's thinking by diplomatically providing an objective and independent point of view.
  • Proven ability to shape and lead IT transformation through provision of strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations services in collaboration with our partners within and outside of Accenture.
  • Ability to effectively communicate the implications of complex technical concepts to senior, non-technical audiences. A passion and commitment to New Technologies and a drive to influence the way these are evolving and delivered.
  • An ability to identify opportunities for value creation based on an understanding of Digital, Cloud, Blockchain, Design Thinking, Analytics and Big Data

The following skills are preferable but not mandatory:

  • Experience working within and/or leading complex programs and projects using leading methodologies such as Agile, SAFe, Multi-Speed IT, and Design Thinking
  • Experience defining and delivering IT enterprise architecture strategy, integrating next generation technologies into organisations’ landscape and utilising industry frameworks such as TOGAF.
  • Experience managing teams and directing work efforts

Leadership qualities (for senior positions)/ desired Leadership qualities to aspire to

  • Confidence in presenting challenging points of view to Director- and Executive-level clients (i.e. CTO/CIO)
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior IT and business executives.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing our people
  • Experience structuring activities that play to a team's strengths and provide opportunities for others to grow
