Location: Newcastle

Travel: 100% Possibility for travel to client sites throughout the UK 

Salary: £50,000 - £63,000+ (depending on experience) + car allowance and bonus

You will have experience spanning multiple cloud provides including AWS, Azure and GCP. You will be an Architect used to working in a customer facing role owning technical delivery on projects, designing and delivering suitable solutions in line with customer business needs and expectations.

 

As a Cloud Architect, you will be joining our Architecture team where you will, of course, have a technical background with a specific focus on cloud and hosted solutions. Experience in Integration and environment transformation and be expert in defining, designing and delivering cloud-hosted strategies and solutions.

 

 

What responsibilities will you have?

  • Reporting to senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Architect and customise, reusable solutions to work at all scales (POC to enterprise)
  • Creating business cases for technology and organisational transformation to enable migration to or utilisation of pure/hybrid cloud
  • Assessing and recommending the best of breed Cloud technology solutions to address client needs
  • Developing solution architecture, implementation plans and estimates
  • Designing and deploying enterprise-wide dynamically scalable, highly available, fault tolerant, secure and reliable applications on AWS full-stack
  • Mentoring and developing skills of Junior Architects

  • Networking concepts (VPCs, NACLs, Routing, ELBs, Direct Connect, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud interconnect)
  • Compute (EC2, AVMs, etc)
  • Storage (S3, EFS, Data Lake, Cloud Storage)
  • Database Services (RDS, Dynamo DB, Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner, Cosmos DB, Table Storage, etc)
  • Serverless (Lambda, Azure Functions, Cloud Functions)
  • Cloud Formation, JSON, YAML, Shell scripts, PowerShell, Terraform
  • Microservices and containerisation
  • Security & understanding best practices and how to secure cloud resources
