Role: Big Data Solution Architect Consultant/Manager
Location: London/Manchester
Travel: up to 100%
Salary: £50,000 - £62,000 + benefits (Consultant); £70,000 - £87,000 + benefits (Manager)

Accenture Analytics supports clients to turn information into action by driving technology-enabled business insights, creating a "decision making environment" embracing social media, cloud, mobility, big data and legacy environments. We deliver and run the information strategy, architecture and governance that enable a "single source of the truth", empowering our clients to analyse that data for smarter decision making, actions and outcomes.
 
What responsibilities will you have?
  • Designing and implementing modern, scalable data architectures for our clients leveraging Hadoop, NoSQL, Apache open source and emerging technologies, covering on-premise and cloud-based deployment patterns
  • Providing advisory services and thought leadership on modernising analytics environments leveraging Cloud based platforms, big data technologies, including integration with existing data and analytics platforms and tools (EDWs, data integration, BI platforms etc.)
  • Defining, designing and implementing data access patterns for multiple analytical and operational workloads, across on-premise and Cloud based platforms
  • Creating data management solutions covering data security, data privacy, metadata management, multi-tenancy and mixed workload management across Hadoop and NoSQL platforms, spanning on-premise and Cloud based deployments
Architecting for a data marketplace to enable data access via APIs, Search, BI tools and interactive SQL

Qualifications

What skills & experience are we looking for?
 
We are looking for data engineering practitioners who can complement our team with a demonstrable, hands-on range of skills that have been used to deploy use cases in production.
 
Mandatory skills:
  • Hadoop platforms & distributions: Cloudera, Hortonworks, MapR, EMR
  • Data modelling & data pipeline design: iterative data pipeline development from raw, curated, integrated to published data, with fit for use data modelling on Hadoop and NoSQL platforms
  • Data security, privacy & metadata management: design approaches and tooling for securing data on hybrid data platforms, and for integrated metadata management across a use case lifecycle
  • Cloud platforms: Experience architecting big data solutions on at least one of the following: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Solution architecture: end to end analytics solution architecture design and delivery estimation
  • Client facing skills: solid experience working in client facing / consulting environments, to be able to build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and act as a trusted adviser.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
  • NoSQL: HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, CouchDB, Memcached, DynamoDB, Druid, BigTable
  • Search: SOLR, ElasticSearch
  • Data Catalogues: Collabra, Information Catalogue tooling from enterprise data integration platforms (Informatic, IBM InfoSphere etc.)
  • Other tools, databases and Apache projects: Google BigQuery, Presto, Drill, Kylin, OpenTSDB etc.
