We are growing our team across UK Financial Services, and are looking for a technology professional with a proven background in using Agile and/or DevOps frameworks and practices to deliver technology transformation. The FS Technology Advisory Digital IT-Agile/DevOps consulting practitioner plays a critical role in helping Accenture's clients re-orientate their legacy delivery modalities to new and innovative approaches. This person will operate as a trusted advisor to clients, alongside Business and IT stakeholders, working to understand relevant business and technology needs and drive successful change.

 

What responsibilities will you have?

  • Working with client stakeholders across technology and business domains, as well as across various Accenture practices and third party providers to build new propositions, enhance existing customer experiences and streamline operational processes.

  • Support the delivery of Accenture's Agile and DevOps offerings from maturity and capability assessments of clients through to agile delivery of complex programmes of works

  • Developing and presenting at industry conferences as an expert in the fields of Agile and DevOps delivery

  • Work within the Technology Advisory practice to build and develop the Agile and DevOps offering, and foster links with the wider Accenture community

  • Lead senior client engagements to establish existing processes and practices, providing trusted advice and roadmaps to enable change

  • Understand engagements, business drivers for regulatory compliance and digital enablement opportunities as they relate to our clients’ businesses.

  • Demonstrate ability to lead and manage business development / proposal efforts.

  • Lead the growth, development and support of junior resources.

  • Leading development of an innovation culture within the team and promoting new ways of working.

  • Take initiative to communicate, interact, and collaborate with others to ensure that all aspects of a task are addressed.

  • Work within a collaborative lab environment or "sandbox" to test and validate technology prototypes.
 

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Experience in the Financial Services Sector, especially banking/capital markets working towards innovation/remediation projects.

  • The ability and experience to work with C-suite executives to shape transformation initiatives aligned to strategic intent and support throughout the delivery life cycle.

  • Ability to understand clients’ needs and expectations and articulate alternative architectures and trends.

  • Profound understanding of Agile and DevOps concepts and use cases across both infrastructure and software.

  • Understanding of the challenges of bringing Agile and DevOps frameworks to legacy-heavy FS clients.

  • Supplement a deep knowledge of Agile and DevOps frameworks with experience across multiple FS technology domains; core banking/mainframe; networks; security; datacentres; end-user computing; applications

  • Prior knowledge and experience in Agile and DevOps tooling (Puppet, Chef, Jira, Github, Docker etc.), with solid understanding of business integration technologies, vendor solutions in the market, and architecture trends like code control, infrastructure as code and containerisation.

  • A strong understanding of IT Architecture, IT Service Management and IT Operations concepts.

  • Hands-on experience in managing large, complex multi-faceted IT change programs in an IT organisation preferably in the financial industry, with demonstrated "can-do" attitude.

  • Deep understanding of overall delivery lifecycle and supporting methodologies and processes.

  • Proven success in the creation and leadership of high performing teams.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.

  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to build the Technology Advisory community and contribute to internal events and knowledge transfer.

What academic qualifications do you need?

  • Industry recognized certification in Agile/DevOps (e.g., PSM, PMI-ACP)

  • Undergraduate University degree (2:1) or equivalent: Technical/ Engineering/ Computer science background is an advantage
