Role: DevOps / Continuous Delivery Engineer (with Ansible Expertise)
Location: London and Manchester
Salary: £43,000 - £85,000
Travel: up to 100% (variable)
Closing Date: 31/8/2017
 
 
Accenture is currently initiating large number of engagements with our clients that involve bringing innovation to technology delivery. As such, we are working to recruit DevOps professionals into Accenture’s UK DevOps Practice. You'll be part of a growing network of  technology delivery experts, who design, build and implement the platforms used by Accenture across IT systems for a broad range of clients within many industries. As a DevOps and Continuous Delivery professional your primary focus will be on designing and implementing automated platforms which will support the delivery of resilient  technology solutions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Engineer release automation solutions using configuration management tools like Ansible and Chef.
  • Provide thought leadership in configuration management processes, technologies and tools.
  • Design and implement solutions to securely store configuration data using tools like Vault.
  • Design and implemented continuous delivery pipelines with security best practices in mind.
  • Conducted automated QA using tools like Test Kitchen and Server Spec.
  • Work in conjunction with IT, engineering, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements.
  • Working with and enhancing open source projects such as the Accenture DevOps Platform. https://accenture.github.io/blog/2016/08/08/adop-intro.html.
  • Experimentation with new technologies to determine their use cases/suitability.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge on key DevOps concepts – continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Excellent knowledge of software configuration management and tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef).
  • Practical experience working with Ansible or Chef to create release automation pipelines.
  • Hands on experience working in major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Continuous integration and delivery implementation experience using like tools like GIT and Jenkins.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Design and delivery of IT systems for a broad range of clients using technologies such as:
    • Development platforms e.g. Java, JavaScript, .Net, SAP, MuleSoft ESB, Oracle Fusion.
    • Tools e.g. Jenkins, Git, Jira, Ansible, Docker, ELK, Nexus, SonarQube, Ansible.
    • Cloud platforms e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Compute Engine.
  • Working within an agile environment, including the use of Scrum and Kanban.
Note: Accenture will be recruiting at the Application Development Associate Level. Accenture is a meritocratic organisation. Joiners at this role and level can expect to progress all the way to a Managing Director level based on merits.
