As a Custom Software Engineer, a typical day involves designing and developing tailored software solutions that enhance various system components and applications. The role requires working closely with different teams to ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient software products. The engineer actively participates in iterative development cycles, continuously improving and refining software to meet evolving business requirements. Collaboration and adaptability are key, as the engineer balances multiple tasks and priorities to contribute effectively to project goals and organizational success.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead efforts to identify and implement process improvements that enhance team productivity and software quality.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and integration within the team.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM AS/400 RPG III.
- Strong knowledge of software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
- Experience in designing and coding modular and reusable software components.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with database management and integration techniques related to IBM AS/400 environments.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in IBM AS/400 RPG III.
- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
