How I put change in motion

I work with the world’s largest social media and platform companies, helping them design and scale products globally. I partner with our clients to work on innovative solutions that will help position them as high performing businesses. Part of my responsibility is also supporting my clients in ensuring that their platform is a safe place for users from all over the globe and that risks are mitigated so that there are no Public Relation (PR) problems.

My team and I constantly push the envelope, looking for new and innovative ways to drive tangible outcomes for our clients. I work with our cross-functional teams from Strategy & Consulting, Interactive, Intelligent Operations and Applied Intelligence to ensure that we are bringing the best of Accenture to our clients every day.

When my team and I are solving for our clients’ business issues, we always end up down a path of “how can we help our clients embrace change to be better businesses, develop communities and improve lives?”

In my line of work, we are constantly ensuring that online communities are kept safe, day in and day out. We do this through our incredible people who are empowered by technology.

One of the most exciting projects I’ve worked on was Media Partnerships. This was a unique pilot for the world’s largest social media platform. I was responsible for developing an outreach pilot for video creators, content creators and public figures in Asia, to drive product adoption for my client’s platform, and engagement on the platform for influencers. I’ve worked closely with our teams in Operations, Strategy & Consulting and Applied Intelligence teams to drive and deliver value for our client. The pilot was highly successful, and we subsequently scaled the program to Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe.

A day in my life

Every day is different, bringing with it new challenges to solve. This is what really makes my job exciting!

I have a team of more than 300 people in Singapore, and multiple global teams across Dublin, San Francisco, Austin, Mumbai and Bangalore. With such a large group, you can say that there is never a dull day!

Each day, I need to think like a CEO. Working in the software and platforms industry means that decisions need to be made quickly. There is a constant need to move fast—and change is constant in my client’s business. In a post COVID-19 world, having access to the right people, process and technology is more important than ever—and this is where the power of One Accenture shines.

Every day, I’m “plugged in” to our global Accenture network of people who are working with our clients in different parts of the world to ensure that we are delivering and exceeding on our client commitments. We work in a very fluid workforce, spanning continents.

People are our greatest asset, and so I need to think systematically about who are on my teams, their roles, how we operate, and how we can ensure that we position them for maximum success to deliver positive impact for our clients.

Thanks to the power of technology, working remotely has not hampered productivity or progress in any way. Besides having regular client video calls, being a trusted advisor to my client stakeholders also means that they have direct access to me via chat and other messaging channels. We are constantly ideating together through these channels.

My advice

Listen and learn. Be open minded, be willing to share knowledge and be ready to adapt to change. Ask questions, and don’t be afraid to share your views.

We have a very open culture here, where anybody can ask for help, and help will be provided. We also each have a Career Counsellor, who is someone senior, to help us navigate our careers. Besides my supportive Career Counsellor, I also have mentors in the organization who challenge, listen and support me in my career progression.
