How I put change in motion

As XR & Blockchain Developer, I work at Liquid Studio where we look into the latest technology and learn how it works and how to develop it further. I specialize in XR, short for Extended Reality (meaning both Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality). I make XR applications for a bunch of platforms, both for specialized headsets as well as PC and mobile experiences.

My favorite project so far was probably when I collaborated with the Helsinki Liquid Studio to make a Virtual Reality solution for the Finnish defense. This was a really fun project, and I got to work with an amazing team of XR developers. Getting to travel to Helsinki and hang out with the team was also a bonus!

A day in my life

At Liquid Studio, we work mostly with short-term projects, so my days vary a lot. Usually, we have a daily sync where developers, designers and managers discuss what needs to get done for the day, then we get started. For me, it involves a lot of learning since the technologies are so new. It also involves a lot of communicating with the other developers, the designers, and sometimes even the companies that create the technology that we are using.

What I really like about working at Accenture is the variety. Getting to do all different kinds of short-term projects and trying all the latest technologies is something I really enjoy. I get to work with a lot of talented people who have been really helpful and have enabled me to learn so much more than I would have otherwise.

Outside of my job, I have a lot of creative pursuits such as painting, making music and writing which helps me strike a balance between work and spare time. I also really like reading and playing video games from time to time where I have been playing a lot of Hades lately.

My advice

Start now! Get Unity, and start learning XR right now. You can make AR mobile apps basically for free, and it is a great experience to get.

Being able to show your work when someone asks what XR experience you have is invaluable since this field is so new, and there are only a few of us XR developers.
