- Job description

Organization: Accenture Federal Services

Location: Chantilly, VA

Accenture Federal Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Accenture LLP, is a U.S. company that helps clients transform bold ideas into breakthrough outcomes.  We serve every cabinet-level department and 30 of the largest federal organizations. Our 9,000 dedicated colleagues and change makers work with clients at the heart of the nation's priorities in defense, intelligence, public safety, civilian and health to make a difference for the people they employ, serve, and protect.

The Senior Network Architect or SNA will lead the definition, design and documentation of the client’s network environment and will lead efforts to develop new and updated architectural models and changes that better align the client’s existing network resources and future investments to its mission and business objectives. The client’s current network technologies and architecture are overly complex, are not adequately reliable, and require senior engineer skillsets for routine operations and changes; this is the main business and mission issue the client has charged a new architecture team with remedying.

The SNA will propose new architectural models/changes and network resource realignments that enable the client to reduce network complexity where practical and necessary and that would improve network availability and survivability.  The SNA will assist the architecture team lead with prioritization of the team’s analysis, documentation, and design activities. As urgent operational issues are identified throughout team efforts, the SNA must support escalation to the client’s senior leadership and suggest a priority.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Information Management, or IT related field) - Or equivalent military experience
  • 10 years of network engineering experience
  • 5 years designing networks
  • 3 years experience with WAN routing protocols

  • Experience with medium scale BGP, MPLS or DMVPN WAN
  • Experience with designing government networks and applicable government standards, preferably with classified networks
  • Certificated CCNP, or CCDP, or CCDE, or CCIE or similar qualifications.
  • Excellent technical and business acumen, Good organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
  • Proven track record of strong communication and collaboration skills (oral and written; good briefing skills)
  • Desire to add value to the client and Accenture above and beyond the role

An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
