Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and influence the Learning strategic agenda within Legal. The Legal Learning Manager will support, implement and communicate Legal’s Learning strategy, policies, standards and approaches. They will assist in development and implementation of Learning plans for Legal teams in line with the strategy; and help drive Learning uptake, quality, consistency and alignment through these plans. 

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Legal’s Learning strategic agenda:
  • Implementing and communicating Learning strategic priorities, policies, standards and guidelines.
  • Helping put in Learning effectiveness and quality measures.
Building relationships with key user groups to understand and anticipate evolving Learning requirements:
  • Liaising with the Talent and HR Delivery organizations to ensure alignment with talent priorities and other Accenture initiatives.
  • Working with Legal teams to put in place Learning Champions and to support these Champions in developing and executing Learning strategic plans, in assessing the current maturity of Learning activities and understanding the requirements for gap closure. 
  • Working with the Champions to identify potential issues and areas for improvement; to scope pragmatic solutions; and to disseminate lessons learned and best practices.
Creating, collecting and making available Learning content; ensuring this is regularly reviewed and kept current:
  • Partnering with the CoE and Champions to build and deploy learning solutions to meet local needs regarding capability development and leadership development (leveraging external vendors and Accenture Learning as appropriate).
  • Leading the development, customization, and sourcing of content. 
  • Managing initiatives to re-engineer/improve existing learning processes.
Working with the Learning Champions and Legal Technology team to maximize use of the global Learning platforms (particularly Legal Connect):
  • Being conversant with existing and developing legal technology and platforms and work in close collaboration with the Legal Technology team to develop solutions for Learning management.
  • Working with the Champions to identify priority functional gaps; address availability, accessibility and usability issues.
Helping execute Learning investments:
  • Supporting sourcing and vendor management for Learning services provided by third parties.
  • Liaising with Director of Law Firm Management to determine contributions from and access for panel firms.
Developing and promoting Learning cultures by facilitating engagement and communication across Legal:
  • Active engagement with the Legal teams and influencing them to collaborate and contribute towards Learning initiatives.
  • Supporting targeted Learning forums, events and networking activities. 
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • CIPD accreditation or equivalent preferred. 
  • Experience of deploying Learning strategies, policies and initiatives, preferably within law firms and/or legal environments.
  • Experience of planning and implementing capability development and leadership development programmes. 
  • Experience of training models including curriculum planning, training structuring and delivery.
  • Confidence liaising with senior stakeholders and external vendors

  • Task management: Professional and organized approach to delivery. Able to work under pressure and to tight timescales, with minimal supervision.
