Accenture Research identifies game-changing business and technology trends through provocative thought-leadership and research, working closely with the managing directors in each of the industries, geographies and businesses. It is the first pillar of Accenture Innovation Architecture and as such uncovers disruptors, shapes trends and creates data-driven insights about the most pressing issues organizations face.


We are looking for a Research & Innovation Analyst to join our Research team at the Dock in Dublin. The working environment is open and interactive, facilitating collaboration with colleagues, clients, customers and ecosystem partners. Successful researchers build deep relationships with their peers and senior executives in the practice and work as a team, sometimes responding to requests and sometimes proposing (and selling) research ideas.



The Role:

As part of the Dock research team, you will be supporting the team in shaping the Research agenda and Research offering at The Dock. You will carry out primary and secondary research, helping to source and analyse data; conducting literature reviews and synthesizing secondary research; drafting reports and presentations of findings and supporting the dissemination of research findings. You will also co-ordinate activities related to the execution of research, such as organizing interviews or preparing background briefings. The role requires strong analytical, research and writing skills.



In addition to this, the Analyst will become part of the Global Market & Competitive Intelligence team. A core part of the Global Research team, encompassing 15+ researchers who support Accenture business and clients with market assessment and competitive analysis, that enable strategy development, sales and planning execution.

Key responsibilities:

·         Supporting senior researchers and Dock project teams at all stages of projects and activities:

o   Support the design of research to answer an original research question of relevance to c-level decision makers, demonstrating originality in framing of research ideas and approaches.

o   Assemble data from multiple sources and conduct high-quality analysis with a significant degree of autonomy.

o   Assist with surveys and interview processes by preparing background materials, documenting, summarizing and analysing data

·         Create high-quality PowerPoint slides and briefing material for workshop and project presentations 

·         Develop own set of expertise and embracing innovation in our research methods

o   Develop own “brand” as a highly skilled researcher on issues relevant to Accenture’s business agenda and strategy.

o Develop own network of contacts internally and externally to raise personal as well as Accenture Research visibility 

·         Working with The Dock and wider Accenture Research teams and presenting research findings internally and externally

Your Skills


We are looking for someone who has the following core skill sets:


Issue-based problem solving and structured communication skills:  We want researchers who can identify key issues and, in a logical, structured manner, use these issues to drive their efforts. We also expect individuals to draw out the implications of the research they conduct and tell a compelling, business-focused story about the data that is relevant to Accenture’s business and clients.  We are looking for insights, not just information.


Research skills: We expect researchers to be able to take an issue and turn it into a researchable question, adeptly scope the research effort, and expertly use most (but not necessarily all) research techniques such as secondary database searching, company analysis, market analysis, strategic analysis frameworks, interview-based research and financial analysis. Researchers must also be detail-oriented and follow quality assurance procedures.



Other skills and knowledge:


·      Proficiency in data analysis techniques and familiarity with basic statistical techniques such as multivariate regression and correlation analysis

·       Demonstrated ability to synthesize fragmented information from multiple sources into a coherent summary, and to develop structured communications

·       Strong writing, oral communication and presentation skills

·       Fluency in

·         English (spoken and written)

·         Microsoft Office (Excel; PowerPoint)

·         Data visualization.


Your Qualifications



Relevant graduate degree (e.g., a social science, engineering or business discipline); A post-graduate degree would be an advantage.


Work Experience: 

2-5 years business experience, ideally within a business facing research department or management /strategy consultancy.
