Role: AI Research Software Engineer
Location: The Dock, Dublin 2
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role on the new and growing team at Accenture Labs in Dublin - a recently opened location in Labs' network of over 200 applied R&D experts at seven locations worldwide. The Dublin Labs team focuses on artificial intelligence technologies. Our passion is imagining and demonstrating the possibilities created by cutting edge AI tech. Not only will you join the energetic Dublin team and the global Labs network (with a heritage of three decades at the forefront of innovation), but this Lab is also co-located with the over 200 designers, developers and domain experts at The Dock, Accenture's newly-created global Centre for Innovation - an incredible place to work.
How we work
We collaborate with partners in the academic, start-up and technology eco-systems. We build cool, new systems to put our ideas to the test. We use open source and vendor software, big data tools, visualization, front-end development and cloud platforms. We see our concepts soar to find uses across the many industries Accenture supports (healthcare, manufacturing, retail, travel and numerous others). Your role
As an AI research software engineer, you will drive the key activities throughout our fast-paced projects:
  • staying up to date and informed about breakthrough artificial intelligence (AI) technologies with the potential to transform business, the workforce or consumer experience;
  • working closely with teammates and industry experts to design and implement prototypes that demonstrate the potential of the team’s ideas;
  • providing development support as we run pilots with early-adopter clients to prove the real-world impact of the group’s concepts.
About you
You are passionate about using technology to improve people’s experiences. You think differently and communicate clearly. You work well in a fast-paced, diverse and highly collaborative team. You love learning. You are eager to grow and become an expert in one or more of the technologies our group uses.
  • BSc or higher degree in computer science, engineering or a related scientific field
  • Strong development skills for creating prototypes and demos (e.g. in Java, Python etc)
  • Experience working with data in structured or unstructured databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Hive, etc.) would be an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Prior experience working with artificial intelligence technologies is preferred (especially machine learning, natural language processing, or knowledge representation and reasoning)
  • Prior experience in a research and development environment is also preferred but not essential
