We have moved away from traditional performance reviews to a new approach called Performance Achievement. This approach enables all our employees to receive timely feedback from their managers, on an ongoing basis, throughout the year. This real-time feedback helps employees be their best as they progress their careers with us.

We are striving to reduce the amount of travel required by our employees by rolling out a variety of video-conferencing technologies that help them to connect face-to-face with remote teams in real-time. These technologies include Telepresence, a “like being there” video conference solution and RoundTable, a 360-degree visual conferencing tool.

From what you eat, to where you work, to how we can help you work out - we want you to stay healthy. Which is why we've introduced a number of initiatives, which include having an assessor visit you at your workstation to advise on occupational health and safety, making health screens and medicals available to you, and providing daily fresh fruit in our offices.

We’re incredibly diverse culturally, academically and geographically, and this is one of our greatest strengths as an organisation. These include the African & Caribbean Network, the Working Parents Network and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Network. We also run women’s mentoring programmes, celebrate International Women’s Day and have an active Accent on Gender Network.

We know how important it is for our employees to strike a balance between their work and personal lives. We’re not going to pretend it won’t be hard work, but various technological innovations, combined with Accenture’s serious commitment to flexibility in the workplace, allow us to offer our people a flexible approach — giving them options as to how and where they do their work. You might decide to take advantage of a career break during your time at Accenture. Many people do. The reasons for doing so are different for everyone. But one thing they all share is our full support. Leaves of absence vary in length from as little as four weeks to as much as a year. They are unpaid, and can be taken by anyone with more than two years' service and with strong future potential. If you want to write that book, travel the world or make a difference through voluntary work, you can.

We have also created a Wellbeing Programme, running health and welfare events at our offices throughout the year. These are designed to give people the chance to talk to a wide range of traditional and alternative health professionals. And for those who are feeling energetic, we provide employees with discounted health club memberships and pay a subsidy towards membership fees.

Whichever part of the business you join, you’ll immediately be part of an Accenture ‘community’. Typically drawn from your business or skills area, this is a group of peers and mentors that can give you valuable support when you’re just starting out.
