We are Accenture

As one of the world’s largest consulting and technology firms, we’re constantly on the lookout for powerful minds like yours to help our clients improve their performance. In a nutshell, we develop, deliver and implement big ideas that bring positive, lasting and profitable change to our clients’ organisations. We love technology. But we’re not controlled by it. At Accenture, we harness the latest innovations to bring empowerment to our clients, crafting solutions that keep them ahead of the game.

A great place to work

Working Here

When you join Accenture, you’ll discover it’s not just the work that’s diverse. You’ll be part of a mix of brilliant people from all backgrounds, plus you’ll have the chance to take part in a variety of initiatives and events. From volunteering and charity work to taking part in corporate social responsibility activities, we’ll help you make the most of every opportunity and we offer you three paid days to volunteer each year.

Make no mistake, what we do is hard work and the challenges come thick and fast. Which is why where we work and how we work together is so important. Our culture makes daily challenges enjoyable and rewarding and is one of the reasons why Accenture is a great place to work.

To find out more about life at Accenture, read our blog and hear straight from our Graduates and Interns.

Whether you’re a graduate or an experienced professional, regular career counselling will help you get the best out of your time at Accenture.

In an organisation as big as ours, clear communication is vital. Our annual Global People Survey is a chance for you to tell us how you feel about everything from training to rewards and general job satisfaction. Plus there’s the Accenture Portal, an internal information site that has an area dedicated to employee feedback and discussion.

We have moved away from traditional performance reviews to a new approach called Performance Achievement. This approach enables all our employees to receive timely feedback from their managers, on an ongoing basis, throughout the year. This real-time feedback helps employees be their best as they progress their careers with us.

We are striving to reduce the amount of travel required by our employees by rolling out a variety of video-conferencing technologies that help them to connect face-to-face with remote teams in real-time. These technologies include Telepresence, a “like being there” video conference solution and RoundTable, a 360-degree visual conferencing tool.

From what you eat, to where you work, to how we can help you work out - we want you to stay healthy. Which is why we've introduced a number of initiatives, which include having an assessor visit you at your workstation to advise on occupational health and safety, making health screens and medicals available to you, and providing daily fresh fruit in our offices.

We’re incredibly diverse culturally, academically and geographically, and this is one of our greatest strengths as an organisation. To help you get together with like-minded people and share your experiences, we support a wide range of networking groups. These include the African & Caribbean Network, the Working Parents Network and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Network. We also run women’s mentoring programmes, celebrate International Women’s Day and have an active Accent on Gender Network.

There’s nothing like being able to speak to someone at work who’s ‘been there and done that’. It’s a great way to turn your understanding from the theoretical into the practical and marketable.

We know how important it is for our employees to strike a balance between their work and personal lives. We’re not going to pretend it won’t be hard work, but various technological innovations, combined with Accenture’s serious commitment to flexibility in the workplace, allow us to offer our people a flexible approach — giving them options as to how and where they do their work. This flexibility works both ways as employees may be placed on a project anywhere in the world.

With our strong commitment to equality in the workplace, we offer a very progressive SPL policy. And our commitment to working parents goes way beyond parental leave – our Working Parents Advisory Forum is an Accenture-wide group that provides support, shares practical information and shapes company policy.

You might decide to take advantage of a career break during your time at Accenture. Many people do. The reasons for doing so are different for everyone. But one thing they all share is our full support. Leaves of absence vary in length from as little as four weeks to as much as a year. They are unpaid, and can be taken by anyone with more than two years' service and with strong future potential. If you want to write that book, travel the world or make a difference through voluntary work, you can.

We have also created a Wellbeing Programme, running health and welfare events at our offices throughout the year. These are designed to give people the chance to talk to a wide range of traditional and alternative health professionals. And for those who are feeling energetic, we provide employees with discounted health club memberships and pay a subsidy towards membership fees.

Whichever part of the business you join, you’ll immediately be part of an Accenture ‘community’. Typically drawn from your business or skills area, this is a group of peers and mentors that can give you valuable support when you’re just starting out. It’s also a great way to have fun, meet people and feel part of the team.

Clubs & societies

We have a nice mix of clubs and societies to help you pursue your interests outside of work, and who knows, you might even discover some new ones. Here’s a taste of what’s going on right now:

  • Hockey Club
  • Netball Club
  • Theatre Club
  • Wine Tasting Society
  • UK Music Society
  • Ski Racing Team
  • Yoga Club
  • Football Club
