On our Consulting Industrial Placement, you can expect to be immersed in live consulting project work from day one. Intense and rewarding, the programme allows you to make your first mark on a vast global business, while forming connections with a mix of talented people at every level.

You will start off with a week long induction to give you a full overview of Accenture, the work you will do, the tools available to you, our core values and how to build up your network. From the beginning, you’ll have a ‘buddy’ who will provide expert advice and support whenever you need it. Then you’ll learn about the project you’ve been assigned to, which could be in any part of our Consulting workforce. You’ll take on real responsibility – testing software, undertaking research, compiling reports and analysing complex information.

The aim is to give you an insight into what life is like at the sharp end of business and technology evolution. By the end of the year, you should come away with a strong network, lots of valuable skills – and hopefully an offer to join us when you graduate.

You’ll currently be studying a degree that offers the option of an industrial placement and be expecting to receive a bachelor’s degree in your first undergraduate degree, or equivalent international undergraduate. A strong communicator with great organisational skills and a real passion for IT, you’ll want to know more about how technology can make a real difference to business.


This placement is based in London. Please note that you will need to find and fund your own accommodation. However, if we send you on a project further afield, we will cover the additional accommodation costs on your behalf.

Training & development

Lasting twelve months, the programme combines formal training with practical, hands-on experience in live development environments. The programme starts with a week-long induction that will give you a solid grounding in business and technology consultancy, as well as valuable commercial skills. After week one, you’ll start on a project. It could be based anywhere within our consulting teams. And you won’t just be shadowing others: you’ll be a fully-fledged team member right from the start, making a tangible impact.

We’ll make sure you’re properly rewarded — with a competitive pro rata salary and relocation allowance. Other benefits include:

- Salary of £20,000 per annum + £500 bonus
- Relocation allowance
- 30 days’ holiday per annum plus bank holidays

Online application

Applications for most programmes open in the autumn. To apply, you need to complete an online profile. You can only apply to one programme in any six month period but if you are unsuccessful you can apply to other roles.

Discovery Portal

If you are suitable for the role, you’ll be invited to our Discovery Portal. This is an interactive experience and takes about an hour, but there’s no time limit. You’ll receive feedback within a few days.

Assessment Centre

If you’re successful at the Discovery Portal stage, you’ll be invited to one of our assessment centres where you’ll take part in a variety of activities designed to help us find out what your strengths are.

Technical Interviews

For some of our programmes, the final stage will be one or two technical interviews with managers from the specialist area you have applied to work in. We’ll give you lots of advice before your interviews.


Well done! If you’re successful in all the stages we’ll offer you a place on the programme and tell you your start date. If you don’t pass, we’ll give you the opportunity to get feedback.


Three months before your start date, we’ll ask you to provide evidence of your academic results and two references. We’ll then send you details of your training week where we’ll welcome you into Accenture!
