What a Service Design Lead does @ Fjord

 

  • Analyze and respond to client briefs in a timely manner.
  • Manage and oversee the delivery of a range of projects, defining project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Establish relationships and liaise with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work with the Project Manager to issue regular status reports and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Identify and alert the Project Managers to potential crises, and work with them to manage changes in scope and devise contingency plans.
  • Seek out, identify and respond to new business opportunities.
  • Alongside the Project Manager, identify, analyze and resolve risk.
  • Create an environment conducive to the development and exploitation of creativity and flair, enabling the design team to explore different angles to solve problems.
  • Foster innovation – inspiring innovative approaches to design, using creative techniques to lead internal company meetings, brainstorms and external design events.
  • Strive for quality – working with the design directors to push output to the highest level Focus – ensuring the solutions meet the needs of both clients and users while remaining distinctive Advocacy – a hunger to discuss the work being done, both within Fjord and to an outside audience.
  • Maintain client relationships – understanding, analysing, and responding to their views and needs in ways that exceed their expectations.
  • At least seven years in-depth knowledge and experience of user interface design with consumer applications, preferably mobile devices, rich web apps/site, interactive TV within the media, telecommunications and broadband industries.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Excellent English and good German language skills.
  • Deeply knowledgeable and experienced within a relevant business sector.
  • Strongly commercially aware. Experienced in telling compelling stories, and ensuring both the team and client are on board.
  • Able both to define a vision and to support it.
  • Able to deliver the highest quality deliverables for each project.
  • Experienced in proposition development.
  • Talented at fostering creativity and innovation in others.
  • An excellent presenter and a proven positive and motivational leader.
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Organised, but with the ability to be flexible when necessary, performing other role related duties when required.
  • Excellent in planning and analysis.
  • Able to respond positively and calmly to shifting priorities, demands and timelines.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • An effective decision maker and keen to seek out opportunities for self-development. Keen to seek out opportunities to promote Fjord externally.
  • A willingness to travel.
