Position Overview

This role is responsible for hands on DevOps automation, application and infrastructure support, troubleshooting platform issues, communicating with and supporting different business units, and bridging the culture gap amongst the cross functional scrum teams and within Systems teams.



  1. Role Responsibilities
  • Develop /build highly efficient metrics-driven DevOps solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Install, configure, deploy and support on-prem as well as cloud based solutions.
  • Integrate solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework (as required).
  • Perform ongoing routine application support and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementations.
  • Deploy new quarterly modules, upgrades and fixes to the fully managed environments in cloud. 
  • Build automated deployments using appropriate CI/CD tools and configuration management technology.
  • Assess internal technical needs utilising a structured requirements process (gathering, analysing, documenting, and managing changes).
  • Adhere to client operating standards and procedures.
  • Review systems for basic shakedown and for quality assurance.
  • Work on moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more projects that require a singular area of expertise.
  • Participate in sprint planning sessions and work on the committed tasks and within delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate existing applications and platforms and provides recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and assisting in the scope of modifications.
  • Help assessing existing monitoring setup and come up with refinement opportunities and recommendations
  • Automate existing manual daily checks and become a Subject Matter Expert for processes. 
  • Support the database PaaS solution and implement the administration activities
  • Assure database PaaS service readiness and availability with enough resiliency features in place
  • Create process documentation/workflows, knowledge articles and self-service guidance for Systems team DevOps processes.

Essential experience & skills

  • Australian citizen with continuous residency (** Must have the ability to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance **)
  • Knowledge of scaled agile team environment and ITIL process
  • Experience in software development life cycle to enable DevOps processes.
  • Extensive Experience in PowerShell scripting and ability to automate working processes.
  • Experience in Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, SQL server, Windows 2012 or similar)
  • Design and set-up AWS based cloud infrastructure (IaaS) to support project delivery
  • Knowledge and experience of common CI/CD tool sets (Cloud Formation, vRealize Automation, Microsoft TFS/VSTS, Ansible)
  • Experience in application and infrastructure monitoring setup and developing dashboard.
  • Develop environment automation to enable DevOps based continuous delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop system documentation
  • Great communicator and eagerness to bring culture to life.
  • Ability to manage high volume and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
