Main Responsibilities

  • Create/update new monitoring templates (based on agent-based and agentless monitoring solutions)
  • Create/update monitoring Dashboards (Business Dashboards, Application Monitoring Dashboards, Infrastructure Monitoring Dashboards)
  • Participate in IT Operations support activities (morning checks, health checks, upgrades of products, etc)
  • Maximize system performance by monitoring performance of the System Tools; troubleshooting server and application problems
  • Work on Application Performance Monitoring through ManageEngine AppManager, creating metrics, alerts, reports and dashboards for the in-scope applications
  • Monitor and manage the IT infrastructure and application landscape.
  • Collaborate with subject matter exerts in other IT skills areas to design and implement SMART monitors and monitoring solutions.
  • Proactive checks of monitoring services to avoid service outages or limit their impact. Troubleshooting and fault isolation to restore monitoring services when necessary
  • Create solutions from Incident Management Case Study evaluations. This includes development of the related root cause flow charts and troubleshooting procedures that streamline the time required to isolate faults, restore service and prevention of similar incidents from reoccurring

Requirements

  • Exhibit specialist skills in Systems Monitoring and Event Management Tools with design, configuration and run support maintenance experience in Infrastructure and Application Systems monitoring and Event Management Tools.
  • Exhibit experience in deployment, configuration and maintenance of one or more ManageEngine product suite tools (or related industry leading products)
    • ManageEngine AppManager
    • ManageEngine OpManager
    • ManageEngine AssetExplorer
    • ManageEngine Network Configuration Manager
    • ManageEngine Netflow
  • Strong knowledge on SQL and PostgreSQL databases
  • Experience in creating custom scripts to be triggered/ported to ManageEngine suite (e.g. Korn Shell, Perl, PHP)
  • Experience in creating custom reports inside and outside the monitoring tools (Crystal Reports, ManageEngine Reports, etc)
  • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP, SNMP, SMTP and SMS for integration to Management Tools, including other networking protocols, is essential.
  • Understanding of networking concepts and components (DNS, DHCP, NAT, Firewall, Proxy, LoadBalancers, Switches, Routers, Application Services, API’s, etc)
  • Strong knowledge on Linux and Windows administration in relation to integration with Monitoring Tools.
  • Working knowledge of any Event Management tool (e.g. BMC Event Manager, ManageEngine Suite, etc).
  • Knowledge on Transaction Monitoring tools (e.g. BMC TMART, ManageEngine AppManager, etc).
  • Knowledge on Network SNMP and operational know-how on what monitors to be configured for Operations.
  • Knowledge on other Systems Monitoring tools is highly desirable, such as:
    • HP OpsBridge and other HP Tools Suite
    • BMC Monitoring/Zenoss
    • CA Specturm
    • eHealth Network and other CA Tools Suite
    • IBM Tivoli Tools Suite
    • SolarWinds Tools Suite
    • Dynatrace
    • Nagios
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and easily
  • Strong ability to analyze and summarize
  • Rigorous and well-organized
  • Capacity to cooperate/ability to work across different teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment is essential
