As a Tech Business Analyst, you will use comprehensive modern data engineer techniques and methods with Advanced Analytics to support business decisions for our clients. In this role you will be gathering requirements and document technical and functional specifications to support the analysis of structured/unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources and patterns

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements to technical solutions leveraging strong business acumen.

  • Analyse current business practice, processes, and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging cloud technologies (AWS preferred).

  • Support the planning and implementation of data design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance and performing needs assessment.

  • Deliver documentation for for transformations, modernization of enterprise data solutions using AWS Data Technologies.

  • Test Modern Data Pipelines, Data Streams and Data Service APIs.

  • Develop and maintain data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures for data access and Advanced Analytics.

  • Flexibility to travel as needed.

Key Role Skill & Capability Requirements:

  • You may have current or previous experience solutioning programs and system integration projects that include Modern Data Platform and Advanced Analytics, preferably in a business consulting (technology focus) environment or a combination

  • Strong experience across all phases of SDLC delivery with experience working with waterfall, hybrid and Agile methodologies.

  • Familiarity with modern data platforms, including Data Lakes and Data Ingestion. AWS is preferred

  • Create mockup data for test purposes – eg. Creating mockup XML file to push through into Kafka, for Systems Testing and SIT purposes

  • Support any testing activities for applying business transformations on the data in the Validated bucket, and support data tested in the Integrated and Access buckets

  • Contribute to systems testing of the data ingestion pipeline, the ingestion framework, platform uplifts or source system team uplifts

Your technical/non-technical skills will include:

  • Demonstrated experience in turning business use cases and requirements to technical solutions.

  • Experience in business processing mapping of data and analytics solutions.

  • Ability to conduct data profiling, cataloging, and mapping for technical design and construction of technical data flow.

  • Document business rules and translate them to transformation rules for data engineers and ETL developers

  • Ability to analyse business and risk processes embedded within the source systems, and convert them to ‘current state’ documentation, and translate to data requirements

  • Understanding of data modelling, data structures, databases, and ETL processes

  • Understanding of large-scale data sets, including both structured and unstructured data

  • Prepare Conceptual and Logical Data Model

The ability to apply such methods to solve business problems using one or more AWS Data and Analytics services in combination with building data pipelines, data streams, and system integration. Use of Data Quality tools and processes

The following skills would be a bonus:

  • AWS databricks

  • Knowledge of Python

  • Experience preparing Data for Data Science and Machine Learning.

  • Experience preparing data for use in AWS Machine Learning and/or Databricks are a plus.

  • Demonstrated experience preparing data and building pipelines using streams of IoT data.
