As part of the Operations Architecture Team, the prospective candidate will be leading the design and implementation of build, release and deployment of enterprise Operational applications following the SDLC and Agile and or /Waterfall methodology.

This role will require developing and building quality operational platforms and frameworks to allow consistent, traceable operational management of application and infrastructure components across Non-Prod and Production environments.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • A full stack engineer developing and delivering solution end to end from design through the delivery.
  • Build, Develop and support operational capability in order to provision environments by utilising and creating innovative tools
  • Duties include automation of installation/configuration/management of Splunk 6.x, ELK, App Dynamics, New Relic, Icinga, Nagios, Apache, node.js applications in a secure deployment
  • Responsible for creating an automated capability to patch and manage Windows and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) operating systems
  • Responsible for creating/versioning/testing of scripts (Bash, PowerShell), AWS Cloud Formation templates, Chef, Nagios, Maven/Ant, Git, Jenkins, Perl, and Ruby to achieve a high-level of automation
  • Troubleshoot dev, test and production environment events/issues, including cloud infrastructure and application components
  • UX development using React,  Angular.js or Node.js

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering (Any), Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred or equivalent experience with at least 2+ years of experience working on a 24x7 Cloud or SaaS delivery or production operations team.

Experience:

  • At least 1 years Deployment and management of JAVA, ANT Scripts, J2EE, PHP and .NET based multi-tier application deployments across cloud platforms
  • At least 2 years development experience including bash/shell scripting or any development language
  • At least 1 year of Development experience with React, Angular.js or Node.js
  • Deployed Splunk and/or other Operational monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Network experience with route tables, access control lists, firewalls, NAT, HTTP, Load Balancers, DNS, IP and firewall configuration
  • Knowledge of REST Web Services, XML and JSON
  • Experience with orchestration/provisioning with Chef/Puppet and Jenkins
  • Skilled in implementing automation using Chef, Knife, Ruby, bash, scripting, python, powershell to perform day-to-day support functions and release management activities.
  • Experience in deploying applications within a test and production cloud environments
  • Understanding of network configuration (DNS, VPN, IP Proxy)
  • Expertise with Linux systems administration (CentOS, RHEL or similar)
  • Understanding of Windows 2008 or higher
  • Experience in scripting languages (Ruby, Bash, Python or similar)
  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure & Application monitoring tools
  • Exposure to Cloud Foundry or OpenShift high desirable
  • Requires highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Expert level skills in managing Windows and Linux operating systems
