Develop and write research proposals and market the Accenture Research Corporate Finance capability to senior leadership internally in Accenture businesses globally, with the goal to differentiate Accenture Thought Leadership and / or win new consulting engagements in the market place
Represent Accenture Research in client-facing situations, for instance in proposals and live presentations where a core part of the research solution resides in data science.
Raise awareness and understanding of Corporate Finance research tools and outputs in Accenture and Accenture Research, e.g. Shareholder Value Analysis, Wise Pivot Framework etc. Of paramount importance are tenacity, personal drive and an eagerness to learn and apply new skills and knowledge.
Collaborate with the global corporate finance team that researches, tests, and deploys a diverse set of corporate finance models.
Assist in growing corporate finance skills in the team, ie. organizing learning activities, create x-pollination opportunities.
Interact and collaborate with economists and industry researchers to embed data science inputs into economic models and other research projects
- Build Corporate finance research assets that differentiate Accenture Research in the market.
- Develop data assets and apps to be used by researchers and consultants.
Quantitative analysis skills: Advanced understanding of and comfort with quantitative analysis, including structuring basic excel models, conducting financial analysis of company performance and interpreting quantitative data. Relevant experience might include (but is not limited to) financial statement analysis, statistical analysis, business case development, company valuation and more. Understanding of advanced analysis tools such as R Programming, Python, Matlab, knowledge of SQL is an added plus.
Analytical & issue-based problem-solving skills: We want researchers who can identify key issues and, in a logical, structured manner, use these issues to drive their efforts. We expect individuals to draw out the implications of the research they conduct and tell a compelling, business-focused story about the data that is relevant to Accenture’s business and clients. We are looking for insights, not just information.
Business acumen: Deep understanding of the interplay of companies’ operating and process models with financial indicators.
Research skills: Ability to take an issue and turn it into a researchable question; to scope the research effort and cost it accurately.
Teaming and communication skills: While you would be based in an office with a number of other researchers, the Research team is very much a virtual one and you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work with colleagues from different cultures and in different locations. Experience of work on the telephone or in a remote team would be highly advantageous. You must be able to work in PowerPoint and create well-structured, clearly written presentations with graphs and charts where necessary.
Ability to quickly establish credibility: Many of our customers are senior-level leaders within the company and it is vital that we are able to establish both our expertise and our professionalism. Researchers should be polished and confident, without being arrogant, and able to clearly and concisely articulate a point of view. Researchers should be able to present their research findings to customers and defend their insights.
Technology/innovation mindset: Accenture is a leading global company with a strong focus on technology and how technology is driving business transformation. An understanding of technology trends and an interest in technology is extremely important to succeed in Accenture Research.
