Accenture Operations is one of Accenture key capabilities dedicated to work on outsourcing engagements. These are long-term partnerships with clients for whom we manage and provide increasingly specialized business operations, such as finance and accounting, IT, applications development and maintenance, helpdesk services, and HR. We not only maintain key business functions for clients, we constantly seek to improve them to help our clients move ahead of the competition.

Key responsibilities


PMO - Project Management

  • Manage the program/project from scoping and requirements through deployment for an end-to-end project or specific area of a project
  • Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status in an effective manner
  • Understand the fundamental solution being developed/deployed - its business value, blueprint, how it fits with the overall architecture or business operations, risks, etc.
  • Escalate issues to management which cannot be resolved at the program/project level
  • Ensure resolution of cross segment/team project issues, risks, and/or conflicts
  • Proactively eliminate critical path road blocks to help ensure successful delivery
  • Take steps to proactively mitigate project risk as defined/required in project plan.
  • Ensure stakeholders clearly understand what risks will or will not be mitigated
  • Ensure project members effectively manage dependencies, budgets, and schedule
  • Ensure the project stakeholders' expectations are understood and managed
  • Report and manage overall project/release status back to the project sponsor and stakeholders
  • Take responsibility for end-to-end solution delivery, ensuring timely delivery of high quality project deliverables through effective team communications and focus on quality
  • Manage budget reporting, obtain the stakeholders' commitment
  • Ensure that all requirements, project plans, and changes to commitment are communicated to all affected team members
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
  • Ensure that the project team follows all quality assurance processes, including periodic reviews and transitions
  • Participate in quality management reviews
  • Ensure that the project's assigned portion of the business case planned value is delivered.
People Management and Development
  • Mentor and provide guidance to project resources
  • Proactively assign work and provide instructions, advice and technical/business leadership and guidance to project staff; review work in progress in a timely manner and assess completed work for accuracy, required results and quality 
Process Capability Development and Special Initiatives

  • Comply with any required capability/process certification requirements (e.g., CMMI, ITIL) by following ADM/standard methodologies or ensuring waivers are submitted for any deviations
  • Continually improve program/project productivity 

Project/Phase Planning and Estimating

  • Define the overall project scope with the project sponsor and key project/program stakeholders (e.g., delivery leadership team, solution architects etc.)
  • Develop program/project/phase plans and estimates through negotiations with the project sponsor, key stakeholders, and/or client as required
  • Determine needed deliverables, high level approach, project profile, responsible teams, overall project schedule/timeline, critical path by deliverable, productivity improvements, overall risks and planning assumptions using Accenture Delivery Methods (ADM) as required
  • Drive/evaluate estimates by deliverable and work with teams to optimize and reduce overall estimates
  • Create/consolidate project labor and expense estimate and generate work arrangement vehicles

  • Build positive internal/external customer relationships
  • Proactively analyze and identify process performance metrics and suggest improvement plans
Business Operator

  • Achieve Service Level Agreements (SLA's / ) / Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are met on time and as per desired quality and minimize escalations.
  • Comply with Accenture standards, procedures and policies, and where relevant, client policies and practices
  • Ensure demonstrable commercial controls are in place
  • Increase efficiency by managing processes, resources and technologies to ensure the smooth flow of operations to meet cost, quality, controls and delivery targets
People Developer

  • Actively participate in Community
  • Collaborate with others to share expertise internally and externally through training and mentoring others, participation in communities of practice and external conferences, etc.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and promote teamwork; support/lead efforts to increase employee engagement
  • Develop and maintain skills needed to execute current responsibilities

Complexity


Degree of difficulty of an assignment or the level of problem-solving assessment and resolution required, as indicated by degree of problem-solving, strategic vs. routine focus, and stakeholder interactions (e.g., Executives, Supervisor, etc.)

  • Requires analysis and solving of increasingly complex problems.
  • Interaction is with peers within Accenture before updating supervisors.  Likely has some interaction with clients and/or Accenture management.
