E-commerce Trading and Optimisation Lead

Location: London, Manchester, Glasgow

Salary: £70,000 - £100,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

In our team you will learn:

  • How to maximise the online commercial performance of a business, whilst leading stakeholders to achieve optimisation and delivery of an improvement roadmap.

  • How to provide solutions to real world problems across a variety of industries, whilst referencing past deliveries of commerce growth and optimisation;

  • To focus on both creativity and an analytical approach grounded in data to frame opportunities

As an E-Commerce and Optimisation Lead, you will:

  • Provide and shape a set of services that support the growth and optimisation of a clients commerce business through a combination of consulting engagements and in some cases, hands on operational support.

  • This may include a combination or range of the following types of support:

  • Operating model updates supporting organisations to set up for success

  • Strategy and design work to set the vision and direction of travel for an organisation

  • Create and deliver plans that focus on key strategic pillars of growth, ecommerce channels and relevant customer segments.

  • Day to day management of the Commerce business within a client

  • Performance of online trading including customer experience, customer service and optimisation

  • Ensuring client team and our own teams are engaged and well equipped to carry out their tasks effectively.

  • Ongoing optimisation of the end to end customer journey and how to deliver the best possible proposition which will help increase commercial return

  • Manage Multichannel insights at a category level and using these to communicate opportunity to the wider business.

  • Identify opportunities for proposition development and managing their evolution through co-ordinated project management alongside Knowhow and Development teams.

  • Manage category KPI dashboard and reporting metrics ensuring timely and accurate communication of performance vs targets.


We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Retail online trading experience, preferably within Consumer Goods and / or Automotive

  • International trading experience

  • Evidence of managing and evolving large ecommerce teams

  • A track record of delivering growth within ecommerce – setting a clear vision / strategy and managing to a set of outcomes and change agenda

  • Demonstrate ambition, creativity and passion

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization including executive management.

  • Strong knowledge of latest ecommerce technologies and marketplaces.

Set yourself apart:

  • Ability to understand the challenges in an organisation and plot a path to improvement in a clear, articulate and evidence based way

  • Mastery of the fundamentals of ecommerce strategy, trading and growing an ecommerce or omni-channel experience

  • Proven history of both large scale change in an organisation and continuous improvement in smaller steps
