In our team we are seeking an experienced Cloud Technical Architect:

  • Knowledge in one or more of the following Public Cloud providers: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.

  • Demonstrable experience and deep knowledge in technical architecture design for a broad range of technologies such as Cloud IaaS (compute, storage and networking), PaaS, Serverless, Microservices, SaaS, virtualisation technologies.

  • Experience in developing and managing architecture design work as part of a client-facing engagement team.

  • Experience in managing and performing critical analysis of technologies and associated processes, with a view to recommending strategies that will improve service, lower costs and prevent avoidable operational issues

  • Good commercial attitude to New Business solutioning, with the ability to form solutions based on limited information and assumptions, whilst observing reference architectures and cost models

  • Excellent communication and client facing skills

  • Ability to act as a technical lead to direct and support project engineers during implementation of a solution and be hands on, if and when that is required

  • Has a certification in one or more Public Cloud providers (AWS, Azure or Google).

As a Cloud Technical Architect, you will:

  • Design and plan robust cloud solution architectures selecting appropriate services based on workload requirements (across storage, compute, networks, security, monitoring, automation, data, IaaS, PaaS, managed services, Serverless, Microservices, etc.).

  • Analyse and optimise technical and business processes.

  • Advising stakeholders and translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.

  • Design for security and compliance.

  • Architect complex Cloud Platform services integrations.

  • Design for system and operations reliability, HA, DR, backup, recovery as well as performance efficiency.

  • Implement cost-control strategies.

  • Design greenfield cloud landing zones (baseline environment) with multi-account architecture, identity and access management, governance, data security, network design, and logging.

  • Provide guidance based on best practices through projects lifecycle and/or plan, manage migrations and implementations of cloud architecture, including hands-on deep dive when required.

  • Perform formal well-architected reviews based on standard cloud vendor frameworks.

  • Lead and own architecture activities in designing complex technical solutions involving multi-vendor, multi-cloud environments.

  • Manage the work performed by other architects for their client or project.

  • Provide clients with Accenture knowledge-capital and bring to bear the benefits of wider Accenture experience.

  • Perform due diligence on proposed designs, identifying potential issues within the execution and operations architectures and recommend options.

  • Perform impact analysis of proposed major changes to the technology landscape of customer systems.

  • Thorough approach to gathering & analysing client requirements, to ensure proposed designs and solutions demonstrate best value for Accenture and our clients.

  • Translate technical requirements into New Business solutions and associated financials, supporting the delivery of end to end new architectures.

We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • Broad, up-to-date, industry experience and knowledge

  • Deep Public Cloud expertise, including IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, Microservices, SaaS – particularly Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Optionally others too.

  • Experience in:

    • SDDC, virtualisation expertise – particularly VMWare. Optionally others too.

    • Private Cloud architectures & technologies, including compute, network & storage.

    • Automation and DevOps – such as Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Git, Powershell, Python, etc.

    • Container platforms and Operating Systems. Also experience with applications such as SQL Server, Exchange, AD, SharePoint, SAP, Oracle.

  • Solid understanding of operations technologies, tools and processes.

  • Experience of enterprise-class architectures (High Availability / Performance solutions, Disaster Recovery, secure hosting, etc.).

  • Ability to scope and plan technical project activities.

  • Product selection and comparison skills.

  • Support the creation of business cases and cost models.

  • Proven experience in designing technical architecture solutions in a client facing role.
