THE WORK

As part of the Financial Services Risk & Compliance team, you will work on topics that matter to banks and other financial institutions, from regulatory change and risk management to AI-enabled processes, controls, and automation.
In this role, you will be exposed to the questions financial institutions are facing today: how to stay compliant, manage emerging risks, use data and AI responsibly, and build processes that are both efficient and resilient.
This working internship within our Strategy & Consulting - Risk practice will give you the opportunity to work on live client projects while developing your professional skills and in-depth knowledge of the Financial Services sector. There is also the possibility to combine this with a research thesis, which can be conducted alongside your day-to-day work in collaboration with your Accenture mentor.
Team Our people in Strategy & Consulting support clients every day by combining deep industry insight, functional expertise, data, AI and technology. Positioned at the intersection of business and technology, we help design and deliver practical solutions across topics such as operating models, risk & compliance, digital change, and the future workforce.
Daily tasks As an intern, you will work closely with risk experts across technical topics such as credit risk, GRC and controls, as well as transversal topics like AI-driven credit processes and risk automation. You will also have the opportunity to conduct research on topics that are shaping the risk and banking agenda.
- Research (optional) Within this internship, you will have the opportunity to define and explore a research topic in collaboration with your Accenture mentor, aligned with current challenges and trends in the banking risk domain.

We support research topics across two broad categories — Financial Risk and Non-Financial Risk — and welcome proposals that fall within or across either domain. Topics can include, amongst others:
- Financial Risk —Credit Risk, Model Validation & Calibration, Scenario Intelligence & Stress Simulation, Data Risk & Synthetic Data, AI Governance Risk & Ethics
- Non-Financial Risk —Operational Risk, Controls Automation & Testing, Controls Lifecycle Management, Risk Frameworks Design & Governance, Enterprise Risk & Resilience

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- You are currently a master student who is enrolled in a Dutch university during the whole length of the internship.
- You have an academic background in one of the following study areas (e.g. Business Administration, (Innovation) Management, Economics, Econometrics, Finance, Engineering, etc.)
- You are fluent in English; Dutch is preferred
- You have affinity with the latest technological, strategic, and consulting trends
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE
- You have done extracurricular activities such as a board year or internship
- You are deeply interested in the banking domain and risk function
- You have experience in banking or Risk
- You are interested in pursuing a career in Strategy &Consulting
