What would you do? We are seeking a contracting leader who combines execution excellence with team leadership to deliver high-impact contracting projects across the Source-to-Contract (S2C) lifecycle. You will balance independent contracting expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring compliance with client requirements, playbook guidelines, and governance frameworks. In this role, you will lead teams delivering contracting projects, mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff, and serve as a primary contracting advisor to stakeholders. You may own the delivery of regional or category-level contracting projects, resolve escalated issues, and ensure consistent application of contracting playbooks and policies. You will also champion the use of AI and digital tools to drive efficiency, enhance reporting, and ensure accuracy across contracting processes. As a senior contracting professional, you will operate effectively in complex, matrixed environments, influencing executives, strengthening governance, and driving excellence in contract management.
What are we looking for? • Experience: 10–12 years of procurement and/or legal/paralegal experience, including at least 7 years in contract management and significant experience leading teams or regional contracting projects. • Contracting Expertise: Proven ability to independently draft, redline, and negotiate complex agreements; strong familiarity with playbooks, templates, and governance frameworks; demonstrated ability to resolve escalations. • AI Literacy: - Proficiency in applying enterprise AI tools to contracting workflows (clause review, redlining, summarization). - Ability to validate AI outputs against playbooks, policies, and stakeholder guidance. - Advocate for the responsible adoption of emerging AI technologies to enhance quality and efficiency. • Market & Analytical Skills: Strong numeric and text-based analytical ability; experienced in evaluating supplier terms, identifying risks, and proposing commercially sound alternatives. • Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at building trust with suppliers, sourcing managers, legal stakeholders, and client executives; proven ability to serve as a contracting advisor in complex stakeholder environments. • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent professional experience). Legal degree and/or paralegal certification strongly preferred.
Roles and Responsibilities: • • • • • Lead and oversee multiple contracting projects across regions or categories, ensuring compliance, governance, and delivery excellence. • Mentor, coach, and develop junior and mid-level contracting staff, building team capability in redlining, negotiation, and compliance. • Own delivery accountability for regional or category contracting projects, including governance, reporting, and risk management. • Escalate and resolve high-risk negotiations in collaboration with Legal, the Contracting COE, and client executives. • Independently redline, draft, and negotiate complex agreements, ensuring clear and accurate documentation of legal and commercial terms. • Ensure consistent application of contracting playbooks, templates, and policies across projects and teams. • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sourcing, Legal, and Contracting COE teams to align strategies, resolve issues, and support client outcomes. • Strengthen governance and compliance frameworks, providing leadership in contracting best practices and policy alignment. • Champion the adoption of AI and digital tools to streamline contracting workflows, enhance accuracy, and accelerate delivery. • Serve as a trusted contracting advisor to stakeholders, influencing client executives and building high-trust relationships. • Tailor communications for diverse audiences, including executives, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders, to drive alignment and engagement. • Project Management: Adept at managing multi-phase contracting projects and multiple concurrent workstreams; adaptable to global and matrixed environments. • Leadership & Mentorship: Extensive experience mentoring, coaching, and developing team members; proven ability to build team capability and shape best practices. • Behaviors: Strong executive presence, critical thinker, decisive leader, and trusted advisor; adaptable to diverse cultures and organizational contexts. • Communication & Storytelling: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to create clear, structured deliverables and tailor messaging for C-suite executives, stakeholders, and suppliers. • Tools & Platforms: Proficiency in procurement platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
