About the role:
As the Chief Technology Architect – Insurance, you will be responsible for shaping the technology vision and architecture strategy for leading insurance clients. You will guide complex digital transformation initiatives across life, health, P&C, and reinsurance domains, delivering scalable and future-proof solutions that meet business, regulatory, and customer expectations. This role combines deep insurance industry knowledge with cutting-edge technology expertise to drive innovation and business value.
Responsibilities
Strategic Technology Leadership
- Define and execute enterprise architecture strategies aligned with insurers’ business goals and transformation agendas.
- Lead digital innovation programs including modernization of legacy systems, cloud adoption, API-led integration, and intelligent automation.
- Advise CIOs, CTOs, and business leaders on technology modernization, regulatory compliance, and emerging tech (e.g., AI, IoT, blockchain in insurance).
Solution Architecture & Delivery Oversight
- Architect end-to-end insurance solutions including policy administration systems (PAS), claims, underwriting, and customer experience platforms.
- Ensure robust integration of platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Sapiens, and other core insurance suites with cloud-native and digital front-end ecosystems.
- Provide architecture governance across programs, supporting scalability, security, and data integrity.
Client Engagement & Consulting
- Serve as a trusted advisor on digital transformation journeys including core platform replacement, data modernization, and ecosystem partnerships.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, delivery managers, and client stakeholders to co-create scalable, future-ready solutions.
- Support pre-sales and solutioning efforts by defining reference architectures and delivering thought leadership.
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and mentor a team of architects and technical consultants across geographies.
- Drive architecture best practices, reusable accelerators, and solution blueprints across the insurance portfolio.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA is a plus).
- 15+ years of IT experience with at least 5 years in a senior architecture role within the insurance industry.
- Deep understanding of insurance domains including Life, P&C, Health, Commercial Lines, and InsurTech trends.
- Hands-on experience with core systems like Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or Sapiens.
- Solid foundation in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, APIs, and enterprise integration.
- Strong grasp of compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry data standards like ACORD.
- Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enterprise Architecture certifications (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
- Experience with agile transformation, DevSecOps, and CI/CD frameworks.
