About your role

The Senior Product Designer plans and executes design activities on projects. This starts by modelling the solution goals, developing a holistic understanding of people, technology, data and their interdependencies.

They are a strong visual communicator and create artefacts to share insights with stakeholders to support ideation and concept generation. The role requires the ability to collaborate closely with software engineers, data scientists and subject matter experts to create digital products that utilise emerging technology in a responsible manner. Candidates should have experience with the creation and delivery of digital product and services, working in agile teams and transferring PoCs for industrialisation.

Your everyday abilities

  • Support planning and execution of the design activities on innovation projects.

  • Responsible for integrating into the product development lifecycle, with a focus on creating products that solve complex business problems

  • Uncover user needs through design research, develop deep insights, generate concepts, and craft how people will interact with the products and services we design.

  • Develop user goals and performance metrics that directly inform the business requirements.

  • Design service blueprints and user journeys.

  • Generate wireframes, navigation flows, information architectures and prototypes that inform technical teams on product development.

  • Expert knowledge of design tools (Sketch, Figma, InDesign, etc...)

  • Collaborate with other designers, software architects, data scientists and the business experts to create visualizations for complex technical concepts.

  • Own all UI/UX deliverables. Evaluate output of the junior UI/UX designers to ensure quality of design work.

  • Be a storyteller. Present the communication of research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.

Extras we’d love to see

  • Ability to create concept models both at user and systems level

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents.

  • Curiosity, interest and experience experimenting with emerging technologies.

  • Understanding of other areas of design specialisation, including but not limited to Visual Design, Content Design and Business Design.

  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods

Experience and qualifications

  • 5+ years of in-depth experience of UI/UX design, Digital Product Design or Service Design

  • A portfolio demonstrating product design skills

  • Qualifications or equivalent experience in Product design, interaction design or related field

  • Human Computer Interaction/ Human factors engineering

  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Basic web or native interface development a plus
