Job Title:           Employee Relations and Policies Specialist

Career Level:    9 – Consultant

Location:           Dublin

 

Overall Purpose of the Job

  • Front to end responsibility for the completion of disciplinary and grievance investigations in Accenture Ireland for all Career Levels, up to and including Managing Director.  This includes planning and conducting interviews; obtaining all information necessary to complete an investigation; producing clear and concise investigation reports which summarises the key facts and conclusion; communication of conclusion to the individuals.

 

  • Scope of investigations include all disciplinary / conduct matters, while grievances include, but are not limited to, equality/diversity; harassment/ bullying; conditions of service; absence management.

 

  • Completion of all investigations as soon as is reasonably practical, with minimal delay.

 

  • Keep stakeholders (respondents/ complainants/ ER Associate Managers / People Advisors) aware of progress.

 

  • Act as Disciplinary and Grievance SME and develop and maintain currency in subject matter knowledge through understanding Accenture’s internal policies; the Code of Practise regarding Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures; membership of professional bodies such as CIPD, or other sources, such as employment case law updates.

 

  • As SME own the content of disciplinary and grievance templates. Ensure that all templates are fit for purpose, reflect legislation, case law, and practice.

 

  • Support HR professionals/business leads involved in investigations through advice, 1 on 1 coaching, or the design and delivery of training updates or packages.

 

  • Make accurate and timely updates of the ER Case Management System.

 

  • Provide management information when required. Highlight trends in case types which may necessitate action to address.

 

  • Additional responsibilities may include management of Subject Access Request, Conduct Counts projects and ER reporting

 

Job Dimensions

Expertise

  • The Specialist will be recognised as an expert in the specialism of Disciplinary and Grievance investigation processes, through having substantial practical experience, or through a proven aptitude and willingness to quickly acquire and successfully apply new skills and experiences. 

 

  • Professional qualifications e.g. MCIPD would be an advantage

 

  • Ability to actively listen, reason and empathise at all levels, build trust very quickly.

 

  • Analytical and written skills must of a high order to produce investigation reports/notes, or recommendations for solutions based on reasoned rationales.

 

  • Quickly understand the Accenture Ireland organisation and culture. Assimilate details of differing roles/ responsibilities so building credibility.

 

  • Design, develop and deliver professional presentations at all levels and match delivery to the needs of the audience.
