We are looking for a Capacity Planning Specialist to join our team to develop and implement capacity modelling to identify constraints and work force management requirements to meet operations objectives.

 

What you’ll be doing

 

As part of the Operations Team, you will act as the Capacity Planner for The Dock, reporting to the Finance Lead. You will play a key role planning and controlling the operation assuring that all research projects are staffed correctly. This role is also responsible for supporting the decision-making process with meaningful, consistent and accurate information and insights. In this role you will:

  • Develop and manage the processes and tools needed to build resource plans that ensure optimal usage and prioritization of needs 
  • Map the headcount and skills demand for all active and future initiatives
  • Interface with Dock teams to track all available resources and their locations to proactively match supply and demand based on skills and initiative requirements
  • Develop and manage the appropriate forums to agree the allocation of resources, leveraging capacity knowledge to flag any insights, concerns or recommendation
  • Provide alternative sourcing options through various channels, i.e. Build, Buy, Borrow for short term demand as well as long term planning
  • Develop, prepare and distribute reports tailored to the needs of the internal clients
  • Prepare executive presentations with meaningful insights to support the decision-making process
  • Work with project leads to anticipate future needs and make the right adjustments ensuring adequate resource coverage
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to respond to capacity-related questions

Your skills and qualifications

 

Required

  • Third level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant operations forecasting and capacity planning experience
  • Highly analytical and detail oriented
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Desired knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and SAP
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills; willingness to take the initiative to contribute beyond basic responsibilities
  • Excellent judgement and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Proactive, process and results driven
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to deliver results in a complex environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
