ACCELERATE AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE DEVELOPMENT
Embraer, a leading aircraft manufacturer wanted to transform their best-selling light jet, the Phenom300 series aircraft to create a top-of-the-line MedEvac solution.
Together, we (formerly as umlaut) and Embraer developed and certified a new supplemental type certificate (STC) utilizing Aerolite equipment. With a comprehensive set of configuration alternatives and hospital-grade trim and finishing. As a purpose-built MedEvac solution, the Phenom 300MED is designed to be quickly and easily configured to meet the needs of both healthcare providers and patients.
The certification included extensive analyses of the Medical Oxygen System and of the new interior components, as well as an evacuation test. The Phenom 300MED, has received the STC from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Manufacturers and operators of aircraft and equipment produce large numbers of technical manuals for their air and ground crews, which are constantly revised as and when the customer makes new procedures, or modifications to the existing models.
Most aircraft manuals are written in Simplified Technical English (STE), developed to help users understand what they read, in order to avoid misinterpretations and mistakes. However, the possibility of human error through manual checking is higher as the authors need to spend extensive time proofreading.
We (formerly as umlaut) developed an automated solution for verifying the contents of the manuals using AI, Machine Learning and Neuro Linguistic Programming to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the process of writing the technical manuals. The tool helps the check for most of the STE rules, generic English grammar, spelling, and other necessary standards applicable when creating the manuals.
The deployment of new software versions on hardware is a key enabler for many engineering teams as we move towards more products being software-defined. Timely and efficient testing is key to bringing those products and updates to market faster. This means we help reduce the manual effort for testing required, integrate with the development and testing activities of our clients and help increase efficiency to ultimately increase speed to market.

We (formerly as umlaut) have created the Automated Driving Engineering Platform, ADEP, an ecosystem of different software and hardware elements that helps OEMs and suppliers speed up the development of components for connected autonomous vehicles.
It enables our clients to rapidly prototype use cases, have iterative feedback loops and do performance and safety evaluations to comply with regulations in different countries.
Within this is also the Mobile Data Acquisition Platform, MDAP, a vehicle-based sensing system that gathers data to help improve safety and efficiency in various scenarios e.g. helping smart vehicles communicate with each other and adapt to traffic flows. When not used on vehicles, MDAP monitors how employees and robots interact with machinery in factories so safety procedures and workflows can be adapted for greater efficiency.
