Manages and control the costs of capital projects, ensuring they stay within the allocated budget and achieve maximum economic efficiency. Implements tools and methodologies for detailed expense tracking, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actions. Optimise the profitability of investments.
In this role you will:
Provide the necessary Cost Management / commercial support on a range of mission critical projects and programmes of work. We are looking for a candidate who has working knowledge of establishing and growing a central cost function along with experience in estimating, cost and budget management, benchmarking and work breakdown structures.
Strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving,
communication skills with demonstrable experience delivering similar programmes of work.
Working within a small commercial team with direct interface with our Clients you will be helping establish and grow the central cost functions, promoting best practice and providing absolute cost certainty on their portfolio.
You will be working to deliver strategies and process, providing robust commercial management which will support the portfolio goals and objectives.
Support the delivery of departmental KPIs and objectives such as savings in total cost of ownership, value engineering and continuous improvement.
Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure whilst still delivering quality output and prioritise requirements where necessary. A keen eye to detail is a must as well as the ability to work methodically through a demanding workload. You will need to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and hold the ability to influence and negotiate with users outside your own sphere of responsibility.
Experience in mission critical or data centre environments.
Proficient in the use of the required functions in Microsoft Office skills, (e.g., Excel, Word & PowerPoint) to an appropriate level.
Experience with managing and presenting large data sets would be advantageous.
Minimum 3 years’ experience of working in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management.
Quantity Surveying degree or equivalent.
Professional qualifications – MRICS/MCIOB desirable.
Organised and detailed oriented.
