Career Levels: Consultant / Manager

Location: Hybrid from Dublin or Cork, Ireland (with occasional travel)

As a team:

In the Infrastructure & Capital Projects team, we shape how infrastructure is built and managed. We drive innovation by delivering the best-in-class management consultancy based on industrial experience maximised by the latest technologies. Infrastructure & Capital Projects is one of Accenture’s biggest global growth areas, shown by recent acquisitions announced in this area, and you will be joining at a pivotal moment of growth.

About us:

We bring commercial clarity to complex capital delivery—combining contract strategy expertise (NEC, FIDIC, JCT) with digital cost management, contract intelligence and analytics. From grid modernisation to transport corridors and low‑carbon infrastructure, we help clients allocate risk wisely, buy better, govern spend transparently and drive value across programmes.

The opportunity:

You’ll advise on contract strategy, procurement and commercial risk while operating modern cost control and reporting disciplines. You’ll apply data‑led commercial insights, digital contract management tools and live dashboards to improve decision‑making. At a Manager level, you’ll shape commercial frameworks and playbooks, uplift supplier performance, and standardise commercial governance across portfolios.

Key responsibilities:

Contract & Commercial Management (NEC / FIDIC / JCT)

  • Manage end‑to‑end contract administration, including change control, compensation events, variations, early warnings and claims governance.

  • Develop and advise on contract strategy, procurement routes and delivery models across energy, transport and infrastructure.

  • Build strong client and supply‑chain relationships to support dispute avoidance and predictable commercial outcomes.

Commercial Strategy & Advisory

  • Advise on risk allocation, KPIs, payment mechanisms and commercial positions across the full project lifecycle.

  • Provide commercial insight for investment decisions, identifying risks/opportunities and shaping negotiation strategies.

  • Lead development of commercial playbooks, standard clauses and negotiation frameworks for programmes.

Cost Management, Controls & Reporting

  • Maintain budgets, cost plans, cashflows, VOWD and integrated performance dashboards aligned with schedule and risk.

  • Produce accurate, insight‑rich reports for governance, highlighting variances, risks and opportunities.

  • Validate costs, benchmark rates, support audits and (at senior level) implement digital cost controls and data standards.

Digital Commercial Enablement

  • Use digital contract management and analytics to track obligations, changes, trends and automate reporting.

  • Apply commercial intelligence (dashboards, benchmarks, KPIs) to drive supplier performance and commercial outcomes.

  • Support integration of carbon and social‑value metrics into procurement and contract governance.

Governance, Assurance & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead or support commercial reviews, gateway approvals and risk workshops, producing clear, executive‑ready insights.

  • Chair cross‑project commercial forums and mentor teams to uplift capability across programmes.

  • Engage stakeholders effectively to ensure alignment, assurance and strong commercial governance.

Experience we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Proven cost & commercial management experience within energy, transport or infrastructure programmes.

  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC and JCT, with confidence interpreting clauses on change, payment, KPIs and risk.

  • Robust contract administration capability, including preparing assessments/responses and supporting procurement/tender evaluation.

  • Solid cost management, forecasting and controls skills, producing reliable cost reports and insight-rich commercial outputs.

  • Clear, influential communicator, able to engage stakeholders and contribute effectively to commercial governance.

Manager-level:

  • Leads commercial workstreams, providing authoritative contract interpretation, claims avoidance guidance and oversight of reporting/controls.

  • Shapes commercial and procurement strategy, including risk transfer approaches, commercial assurance and programme-level decision support.

  • Mentors teams and builds capability while engaging confidently with senior client stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.

Set yourself apart with background in large‑scale renewables, grid, generation or major transport programmes; experience within consultancy, client‑side or tier‑one contracting; professional membership (RICS, ACostE, CICES); familiarity with Irish public‑sector or regulated‑market environments.

Transform how owners and operators manage infrastructure investment—using digital contract management, analytics and cost intelligence. Access global expertise, pursue professional accreditation, and shape national‑scale, sustainable projects across Ireland.
