Role Summary
The SDx / Octave Solution Architect is responsible for designing and guiding the overall SDx solution.
The role works with business teams, technical teams, integration teams, data migration teams, and infrastructure teams to make sure the SDx solution meets business needs and technical standards.
The Solution Architect supports the project from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design the overall SDx solution.
- Lead solution design workshops.
- Create architecture diagrams and solution designs.
- Make sure business processes, data, integrations, security, and SDx capabilities work together.
- Define architecture standards and best practices.
- Provide guidance on SDx / Octave capabilities.
- Help teams use standard SDx functionality wherever possible.
- Minimize unnecessary customization.
- Review object models, metadata, workflows, and security.
- Establish data quality and information governance standards.
- Provide architecture support during build, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
- Review solution designs and technical documents.
- Help resolve technical issues and architecture decisions.
- Identify risks and dependencies.
- Work closely with project managers and technical leads.
- Help stakeholders make architecture decisions.
- Present solution recommendations to leadership.
- Guide and mentor project teams.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of experience with technical information, asset management, PLM, EIM, or similar solutions.
- 5+ years of Solution Architect or Enterprise Architect experience.
- Experience delivering large transformation programs.
- Experience with SDx, Hexagon, Digital Twin, PLM, EIM, or similar platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Hexagon SDx / Octave SDx.
- Strong knowledge of SDx architecture, configuration, data model, objects, relationships, metadata, workflows, and security.
- Experience designing and implementing SDx solutions for technical information and document management.
- Experience configuring SDx while maximizing out-of-the-box (OOTB) capabilities and minimizing customization.
- Experience with SDx document lifecycles, technical work processes, and change control.
- Experience with SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) is strongly preferred.
