You Are:
As a Data Consultant, you will stand up the data services and streaming components of the platform and prove that data can be ingested, processed and consumed within a strictly isolated network. You will deploy and configure the database, streaming and processing components, and build the ingestion and transformation pipelines that carry a priority data source through to curated datasets fit for analytical consumption. You will implement data quality validation, register metadata and lineage in the catalogue, and enable analyst and data science access to the curated data. You will collaborate with the Platform / DevOps Consultants so that data components are deployed through the same infrastructure-as-code and pipeline discipline as the rest of the platform, and with the Lead Enterprise Architect on data modelling and ontology for the priority domain. In this role, you are expected to be a subject matter expert in your discipline, work independently against a defined architecture, and contribute to team decisions within your area of responsibility. Advanced proficiency in Data Integration
and Pipeline Implementation is required. Advanced proficiency in Streaming Data Architecture is recommended. Deploy and configure the data services and streaming components of the platform. Build scheduled and event-driven ingestion pipelines, including change data capture, where required. Develop transformation logic and business rules to curate raw data into consumable datasets. Implement data quality rules and automated validation across the pipeline Establish metadata, lineage and access registration.
You know how to come up with strategies, solutions, and processes for managing enterprise-wide data throughout the data life cycle. Your ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders make you an invaluable asset to any project.
What You’ll Do:
- Understand our customers' core business objectives and build end-to-end data centric solutions to address them
- Collaborate with the business systems analyst, to understand business requirements, and optimize data pipeline performance
- Build solutions leveraging big data and data management tools to meet projects’ requirements
- Construct code with good coding standard and practices to ensure high quality and minimum risks
- Closely work with project manager and technical leads to provide regular status reporting and support them to identify blockers for quick resolution
- Role is hybrid.
What You Need:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and maintaining data pipelines, or data transformation, medallion layer-based solutions and data modelling.
- Experience as in solutioning and building scalable data platforms.
- Experience with 1 of the leading cloud service providers (Azure, AWS, Google)
- Experience with 2 of 3 - Java, Scala, and Python programming languages
- *Eligibility for Canadian Secret Clearance Required*
- A bachelor's degree or completion of a college program in computer science or a related field.
- English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.
Bonus Points:
- Production implementation experience for all qualifications listed
- Production experience in building real-time analytics applications
- Experience in both batch and stream processing technologies
- Machine learning experience with Spark or similar
- Experience with 1 of the other cloud service providers (Oracle, Informatica) or experience with open-source technologies (Spark, Kafka, Presto, Hive, Cassandra etc.).
- Certified Data Solution Architect in 1 or more Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Ability to manage numerous requests concurrently and be able to prioritize and deliver
