Job Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance Leadership:
- Lead the quality assurance strategy and execution across the delivery lifecycle for custom application solutions in the Retirement industry.
- Define and drive the overall test approach, including functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Establish quality gates and ensure test coverage aligns with business objectives and regulatory expectations specific to retirement/financial services environments.
Requirement Validation and Test Design:
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to validate requirements and translate them into test scenarios, test cases, and clear acceptance criteria.
- Ensure traceability from business objectives through release, maintaining alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
Collaboration with Engineering Teams:
- Work closely with engineering teams building modern web applications (e.g., Angular/React and other JavaScript frameworks) and backend services (Java/Spring Boot).
- Collaborate on cloud/container-based environments (Docker on AWS) to ensure testing is effective, automated where appropriate, and integrated into CI/CD practices.
Defect Management and Risk Mitigation:
- Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and risk-based prioritization.
- Coordinate testing across cross-functional teams and provide transparent reporting on quality metrics, release readiness, and key risks/dependencies.
Quality Advocacy and Domain Expertise:
- Serve as a quality advocate and domain-aware leader within the Retirement space.
- Bring strong analytical skills, crisp communication, and the ability to influence delivery decisions.
Test Automation and Solution Architecture:
- Leverage familiarity with test automation frameworks, API testing, and solution architecture concepts to enhance testing practices.
- Drive the adoption of automated testing tools and frameworks to improve efficiency and reliability.
This is a hybrid role and will require 2-3 days per week at your local office.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.
- Strong understanding of the Retirement industry and financial services environments, including regulatory expectations and business objectives, understanding of OMNI platform, ability to create relevant industry data for testing purposes.
- 10+ years experience in leading quality assurance strategy and execution across the delivery lifecycle.
- Expertise in defining and driving test approaches (functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end).
- Ability to partner with business and technology stakeholders to validate requirements and translate them into actionable test plans.
- Strong communication skills to influence delivery decisions and advocate for quality.
- Experience in defect triage, root cause analysis, and risk-based prioritization.
- Ability to coordinate testing across cross-functional teams and report on quality metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks and API testing.
- Understanding of solution architecture concepts and CI/CD practices.
- Experience following Safe Agile practices
