Strategy & Consulting - Global Network - Industry X - PLC Automation & Manufacturing Systems Integration Engineer
Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Automation Engineer with strong expertise in PLC programming (Siemens, Fanuc, Mitsubishi) and experience integrating shop floor equipment with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and enterprise management platforms. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between industrial automation and digital manufacturing systems, ensuring seamless data flow, efficient production processes, and sustainable automation practices.
Key Responsibilities
· Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens S7 series, Fanuc, Mitsubishi) for automated manufacturing lines.
· Design and implement automation logic to connect production equipment with MES, PLM, and ERP systems.
· Develop and maintain interfaces between shop floor devices, IoT systems, and enterprise-level applications.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT, operations) to ensure smooth system integration and data consistency.
· Support Industry 4.0 initiatives including IoT connectivity, predictive maintenance, and digital twin applications.
· Conduct testing, validation, and optimization of automated systems to improve reliability and efficiency.
· Provide technical training and documentation for operators and maintenance staff.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
· Proven experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting (Siemens TIA Portal, Fanuc Ladder, Mitsubishi GX Works).
· Knowledge of MES, SCADA, or digital manufacturing systems integration.
· Hands-on experience with industrial networking (OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP).
· Familiarity with IoT platforms is a plus.
· Strong problem-solving and communication skills in multicultural environments.
· Bilingual: Native Spanish, fluent English.
