Custom Software Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Embedded Java Software Lead Developer to join our team and lead a group of developers working on innovative Mobile Online Services. This role requires proficiency in Java development along with strong leadership capabilities to guide and mentor the team effectively. Team Lead: • Lead a team of up to 4 developers and 3 requirements engineer. • Oversee and monitor the progress, challenges, and key topics within the team, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently. • Plan and supervise the execution of all tasks assigned to your team. • Familiarize yourself with the underlying API Layer and its architecture for third-party application integrations and own software development solutions. • Enable the team to work autonomously and deliver high-quality results consistently. • Provide regular reporting on team milestones, progress, and important updates. Developer: • Take ownership of multiple Java applications running as services in the client’s embedded software platform. • Maintain well-documented legacy code, analyze and resolve bugs, extend test coverage, and implement enhancements. • Develop software architecture and design while ensuring traceability between customer requirements, documentation, service implementation, and testing. • Collaborate closely with the on-site development team & requirements engineers to streamline requirements, implementation, & documentation. • Ensure the long-term maintainability & quality of applications using quality metrics, static code analysis, & structured testing mechanisms. Skills & Experience Required Technical Competencies • Minimum of 5yrs of embedded software development experience with at least 3yrs of Java programming experience. • Proven expert proficiency in Embedded Java Software Development & adept at working with legacy codebases. • Practical experience leading a team of 4 or more developers, ensuring efficient collaboration & outcomes. • Strong familiarity with JUnit Testing Framework & Git source code management. • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles & design patterns. • Solid knowledge of embedded development techniques, including hardware-software integration. • Familiarity with network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/UDP, IP), including trace analysis using tools like Wireshark. • Knowledge of software development metrics such as MC/DC coverage, branch coverage,& static code analysis. Soft Skills: • High technological affinity with deep analytical capabilities. • Strong autonomous working ability complemented by problem-solving expertise. • Demonstrable English communication proficiency, both oral and written. • Collaborative mindset with leadership proficiency in guiding and mentoring developers. Nice-to-Have Skills: • iSAQB® Certified Professional for Software Architecture - Foundation Level. • Knowledge of Android service development. • Automotive SPICE familiarity.
