Senior Manager / Associate Director – Cybersecurity Practice
Role Overview
This role sits within the Cybersecurity Practice and is responsible for leading and delivering high-impact cybersecurity engagements while also contributing to the growth and development of the practice in Malaysia.
The role spans both client delivery leadership and practice development, with increasing focus on shaping strategic client relationships, driving business growth, and leading multi-disciplinary teams across complex cybersecurity transformation programmes.
The successful candidate will engage confidently with senior executives, translate business and industry risks into actionable cybersecurity strategies, and ensure delivery excellence across all engagements.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Programme Leadership
Lead and oversee delivery of cybersecurity advisory and transformation engagements across multiple industries.
Manage end-to-end execution of programmes including:
Cybersecurity strategy and roadmap development
Security maturity assessments and gap analyses
Risk management and regulatory compliance advisory
Cybersecurity operating model and governance design
Large-scale transformation and integration programmes
Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and C-level executives.
Ensure delivery quality, consistency, and alignment with client business objectives and measurable outcomes.
Manage complex multi-workstream engagements and resolve delivery risks and issues.
Practice Development & Growth
Contribute to the growth of the cybersecurity practice in Malaysia through business development and client relationship management.
Support identification and development of new opportunities within existing and prospective clients.
Assist in proposal development, solution shaping, and commercial discussions.
Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships across priority industries.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop teams of consultants and managers across engagements.
Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management support to delivery teams.
Drive collaboration across technical, business, and cross-functional teams.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on quality and client impact.
Strategy & Advisory
Translate industry-specific and enterprise risks into practical cybersecurity strategies and transformation roadmaps.
Advise clients on emerging cyber threats, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Support design and implementation of cybersecurity governance frameworks and operating models.
Contribute to thought leadership and capability development within the practice.
Key Requirements
Minimum 8–15+ years of experience in cybersecurity, technology risk, or consulting.
Proven experience delivering cybersecurity advisory, transformation, or integration programs.
Strong expertise in areas such as:
Cybersecurity strategy and governance
Enterprise risk and compliance
Security transformation and operating models
Identity, infrastructure, and cloud security
Regulatory frameworks (industry-dependent)
Experience managing client relationships at senior stakeholder and executive level.
Strong leadership experience managing teams and multi-workstream engagements.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to business development and practice growth.
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Relevant certifications such as:
CISSP
CISM
CRISC
CCSP
ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
PMP / PRINCE2
Industry experience in financial services, energy, retail, or critical infrastructure is advantageous.
