Role Overview
The Wells Application Support Analyst provides hands-on L1–L3 technical and functional support for Wells and Well Planning applications. The role handles incident resolution, patch management, reporting support, and minor enhancement delivery for the global Wells application portfolio of approximately 90 in-scope applications.
Key Responsibilities
Resolve L1–L2 incidents for Wells applications via ServiceNow within SLA targets escalate L3 issues as required
Support and maintain Spotfire and PowerBI global dashboards, automation services, and scheduled email reports
Apply patches, security updates, and minor upgrades to vended Wells applications per COP change management processes
Perform configuration changes, user access provisioning, and role management for Wells platforms
Conduct functional and technical troubleshooting for custom Wells applications (read-only custom apps needing support)
Support enhancement delivery for BU-specific development needs using standard software management processes
Perform test script execution during upgrade and patch cycles document results
Maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and support runbooks
Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies and update JIRA stories promptly
Coordinate with SaaS solution providers for vendor escalations and resolution tracking
Required Skills & Tools
Spotfire (report support, automation services), Power BI (report publishing, workspace admin)
L1/L2 incident handling, patch application, access management
Exposure to any of: Landmark, Halliburton, or equivalent well planning software (advantageous)
REST API awareness, basic scripting (Python or PowerShell) for automation tasks
ServiceNow, JIRA — daily usage required
Change management (COP CPISP awareness), SOX compliance basics
Nice to Have
Prior support experience with SaaS-delivered engineering applications
Exposure to Oil & Gas drilling or completion workflows
Experience with automated testing or regression testing frameworks
Azure DevOps familiarity
