Contract Manager 

As a Contract Manager you are responsible for managing the larger and more complex (IT) implementation, outsourcing and maintenance contracts. Provide legal and commercial support to the Client Engagement team as contract expert and trusted advisor to enable the utilization of international and commercial contracts and subcontracts within the Financial Services group in accordance with company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and customer requirements.  Responsible for tracking and monitoring contract changes, deliverables, correspondence and risks, and maintaining associated documentation. You are knowledgeable, proactive, have a positive attitude, a can-do mentality and will be visible on your projects so that clients and colleagues know where to find you for advice and improvement of processes. 


Key responsibilities include:

  • Responds to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations and revisions;
  • Identifies risks and issues, suggests alternatives and discuss these with client representatives in a cooperative and positive way, leading to a mutual acceptable solution;
  • Reviews and manages contractual obligations of the parties and provides continual review to ensure that all terms and conditions are met;
  • Responsible for consultation and escalation to leadership of contractual or business issues which are not solved satisfactorily by the project team in a timely manner;
  • Responsible for implementation and managing of the contract management processes;
  • Manages daily workload of assigned Contract Management personnel, both onshore and offshore and project or business personnel assisting with the contract management function;
  • Responsible for the development of CM team and CM professionals on the account;
  • Acts as the primary contact between the project team and/or business unit and Legal, ensuring that all legal and contractual matters are addressed efficiently and promptly;
  • Acts as liaison between Accenture and clients/vendors;
  • Responsible for adherence of company policies and procedures by Contract Management, project or business personnel;
  • Responsible for informing the project team of the requirements of the contract and monitoring compliance;
  • Develops and integrates contract management tools, templates, methods and processes for the engagement;
  • Responsible for client relationship at various procurement and legal levels; Participates/leads various meetings with the client, solving complex contractual issues and negotiating contractual documentation;
  • Being the primary legal point of contact for the client during negotiations of contract documentation;
  • Builds and maintains trustful business relationships with key stakeholders on the account, enabling full deployment of contract management function on the account.

You will be working within the business unit "Contract Management", part of Accenture Corporate Functions. Accenture Corporate Functions support the business in the areas of Finance, HR, Legal, Procurement, Facilities & Services and Marketing & Communications.

Qualifications

  • Legal Master Degree;
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience in an international business environment;
  • Significant experience in the contract management/Legal/procurement field;
  • Experience in the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts;
  • Experience with IT and outsourcing contracts;
  • Knowledge of intellectual property matters, in relationship to consulting, systems integration and outsourcing contracts;
  • Ability to apply sound business judgment;
  • Ability to work independently and deal with day-to-day management of contracting arrangements Proven ability to supervise other professionals;
  • Ability to engage and influence at all levels, both internally and externally, including senior leadership on both, Accenture and client side;
  • Able to resolve contracts and pricing issues;
  • Able to demonstrate excellent analytical and mathematical skills Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with an ability to interface with all levels of management and staff;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English;
  • Driver's license B (working regularly at the customer premises);
  • You must be willing to be fully mobile (project sites in the Netherlands and a few times per year organized international meetings and trainings).
