Each day, I go on multiple conference calls with Accenture people from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, India and the U.S. to collaborate on our client proposal. Normally, one would think conference calls involving individuals from such a wide range of countries, cultural perspectives and time zones would be difficult to manage. Well, the opposite could not be truer. It is incredibly easy for us to do this because of two things: solid cooperation among Accenture people, and the proper tools and tech support for the job.
Since I am in Sales and Accounts, part of my role is creating solutions and drafting a ramp up plan for execution. Discussing these things over a conference call almost always makes for an entertaining session, as you have various people debating various issues, each with their distinct expertise and way of thinking. Our multinational brainstorming sessions uniformly produce ideas that rate anywhere from fantastic, to tenuous to downright unimaginable.
Accenture Operations here in Indonesia is made up of a huge melting pot of talent, and you can see this from our educational backgrounds, career levels, official roles and problem-solving techniques. Despite our differences, however, we genuinely enjoy and embrace what each of us has to offer. It’s as if we have our own company tightly knit little company within Accenture; that’s how close we are!
As an operations specialist, I focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Within Accenture, I get to develop these capabilities quite quickly, since I constantly see myself hitting regional and global company benchmarks with each project I handle. I also have the privilege of consulting with Accenture people who plan and execute initiatives like I do, which helps me learn faster and understand better.
What I like the most about Accenture is the sheer amount of learning opportunities available. I find them in my projects, in the company’s library of material and in my fellow Accenture people. All this shared knowledge drives our performance to greater and greater heights each time.
Because of my jam-packed work week, relaxation is important to me. I spend my weekends and holidays traveling, watching movies and playing basketball with my mates in the neighborhood.
