Dr. Martin Brudermüller, a member of Accenture’s board of directors since January 2024, was chief executive officer and chairman of the board of executive directors of BASF, a global chemical company headquartered in Germany, from 2018 through April 2024. He joined BASF in 1988, and during his career has held a variety of leadership roles, including vice chairman of the board of executive directors and chief technology officer, as well as member of the board of executive directors for ten years for the Asia Pacific region, located in Hong Kong.
Martin is chairman of the supervisory board of Mercedes-Benz. He was also president of the International Council of Chemical Associations, and is currently president of the European Chemical Industry Council, a member of the European Round Table for Industry and a board member of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste.
Martin holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in chemistry from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany. After earning his doctorate, he completed a post-doctorate at the University of California, Berkeley.
