Soben is an award-winning construction consultancy with bold ambitions and a clear trajectory for growth. Since launching in 2011, we’ve built a reputation for technical excellence, client focus, and delivery certainty. Now, we’re entering a transformative new chapter.

In March 2025, Soben became part of Accenture’s Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice, within its Industry X division. This strategic acquisition combines our deep expertise in cost and commercial management with Accenture’s global scale and digital innovation.

For our team, this unlocks a wealth of opportunity:

Access to world-class resources and technology, enhancing how we deliver capital projects

Involvement in high-profile programmes across sectors such as data centres, energy, and pharmaceuticals

Career development at scale, with exposure to international clients and cutting-edge project environments

A platform for innovation, as we continue to challenge traditional consultancy models and lead digital transformation

In this role you will:

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of cost estimates for major construction and infrastructure projects across various sectors.
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary estimating teams to ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy of outputs.
  • Develop cost models, benchmarking data, and estimating tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct detailed risk and contingency analysis, and advise on cost impacts and mitigation strategies.
  • Interface with clients, design teams, and project stakeholders to define scope, assumptions, and deliverables.
  • Review design documentation and identify cost drivers, value engineering opportunities, and potential savings.
  • Contribute to tender and bid submissions, providing strategic input on pricing and commercial positioning.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and the standardization of estimating processes across regions.
  • Mentor and train junior estimators and cost engineers, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with Soben’s quality, health & safety, and ethical standards.

About you

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS, AACE, ACostE, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in estimating roles, including leadership of multidisciplinary estimating teams.
  • Strong background in pre-contract and estimating for large infrastructure, energy, or commercial projects.
  • Excellent working knowledge of estimating software and cost databases (e.g., CostX, Candy, Causeway, or similar).
  • Proven ability to interpret complex technical documentation and translate into accurate cost data.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with the ability to influence and build trust.
  • Familiarity with digital estimating tools, BIM integration, and data-driven estimation approaches is advantage

What’s in it for you:

At Accenture in addition to a competitive basic salary and car allowance, you will also have an extensive benefits package which includes 30 days’ vacation per year, private medical insurance and 3 extra days leave per year for charitable work of your choice! For senior roles additional bonus and equity awards are available.
